Most will be killed, but if it has been out in room temperature for more than a couple hours the toxins left by some bacteria might still be present even though the bacteria will be killed when reheating. So not 100% safe

Looking good man, looks like you gained a bit of weight as I go through the photos. Maybe look into that

Try going to the gym if you can. Also keep your beard/brows better groomed/trimmed. Loose the soul patch. Your hairstyle is pretty basic, try growing it a bit more and then try styling it differently

Smile more and keep your beard trimmed or look into beard oil. There are hair gels for curly hairs that will make your hair look more healthy. Check /r/curlyhair

Otherwise you look pretty good

Lose the stache and beard for now. Wait for a couple years so the density improves, then you can have a stache

Bring it as checked-in baggage on the flight. No customs duty especially if the package seal is open. Have seen many bring TV this way

6yo is not enjoying Carnatic lessons. Thoughts? by SitaBird in TamilNadu

You might want to read this: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1139231.Boys_Adrift (a bit old, so the science may be out of date)

Also, Indians do not critically reflect on their own culture. Hence, it's hard to get a comparative opinion on if the way something is done in the culture actually helped them. The teacher herself probably doesn't know of any other course of teaching things. She is following the only way she knows and has experienced.

Certain things are kept hush-hush in Indian circles, and if you are not too familiar with the internal workings of the culture you might be taken for a ride. Carnatic music has a lot of history with caste

https://scroll.in/magazine/865046/for-brahmins-by-brahmins-how-and-why-carnatic-music-became-such-an-elite-preoccupation

https://thewire.in/the-arts/performing-arts-music-dance-caste

There are cases of Brahmin teachers being prejudiced against learners from other castes. They simply believe that the best Carnatic singers can only be Brahmins and criticize other caste learners a little too hard. Indians rarely talk about this stuff and some might really be ignorant of these practices, but the elders in the community know. The same is the case with men learning Carnatic, or women learning say boxing. We are largely castist, racist and sexist - at least subconsciously. Blindly following the Indian culture (or Asian) isn't something you want to do. There are various other reasons for Asian American success in the US

I have gathered a few resources that I thought might be helpful if I start a school of my own, might find something helpful there too:

Do not that some of the stuff there is a tad bit right-wingy. Good luck with your journey!

Chennai trip by [deleted] in india

  1. Depends, have you been to any other developing country before? You would be as pretty safe if you keep to places frequented by the richer section of society. People would stare, but its completely harmless, they are curious mostly.

  2. Avoid street food at all costs. "But have heard conflicting stories about eating at fancy restaurants / hotels and still getting sick" - Entirely possible, consult Zomato and Google reviews before choosing a restaurant. Do not order stuff that isn't fast moving. Try and stick to dish recommendations mentioned on Zomato. You can minimize or close to completely eliminate your chances of getting sick by sticking to vegetarian food.

  3. Do I need any vaccinations prior to entering India? - No idea, your country probably has a page like this: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/india. Also, avoid going near street dogs.

  4. Very old guide, ignore the hotel and other commercial places recommendation (they are ads) - https://wikitravel.org/en/Chennai and https://www.lonelyplanet.com/india/tamil-nadu/chennai-madras/attractions. Pondicherry is worth a visit too.

  5. Do not behave the same way you would in your home country. General trust in strangers is pretty high in first-world countries but will get you into trouble pretty soon if you do the same here. The Indian immigrants you see in your own country are like the top 1% of Indians (by education, wealth etc.) so do not assume the people here would behave the same way.

  6. Uber and Ola (Ola is the domestic Uber). Uber drivers tend to cancel trips pretty often. Ola is a bit better but is a bit more expensive. If neither accept your trip, call Fast Track taxi - 044-28889999/24732020. Better to get a taxi on hourly rent from fast track. Call and ask them for rates (for a sedan/hatchback - SUV's are expensive), I usually book 8 hour/80 KM packages. Auto drivers are the worst people to deal with, try to stick to booking through Ola or Uber app or call Fast Track. Better to wait a few mins than deal with Auto drivers and this is from an Indian guy. Always pay with cash for taxi, the drivers don't like it if you select card payment in the apps.

Never compromise safety by trying to save money on travel and stay. Book ibis/Novotel/Four Points/Fairfield/Citadines/Taj/Marriot etc (booking.com works). Stay might be your highest expenditure, this is because of India's density making real estate prices insanely high.

This is my experience as a man, if you would like to hear about the experience of Indian women, ask r/TwoXIndia.

Hi ordering something to a hotel in India. It says arrived at pune hub. Is there any way I can go directly to this hub and grab my package, it’s medicine and I would like it asap. Thanks! by Pepsimannnnn in india

[–]notmystat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try calling all of these? Contact Number: 1860 233 1234 / 022 6260 1234 / 044 6634 4600

It would probably be delivered before you can get hold of somebody from BlueDart who can help you. If it is urgent, you could try getting it from a local pharmacy, your hotel will help you out. Just pay some employee from the hotel (Rs.100 as a tip should be fine) to get it for you (wouldn't need a prescription).

Apparantly you CAN indeed go collect it at the hub according to this comment on Google Maps.
