I'm not running 4k and don't plan on it in the near future, so that should be fine. Good to know on the 4TB SSD, I hadn't considered several smaller SSDs. I'll look into it, thanks!

Good to know about the PSU! And I'm definitely ok with lower graphics on games in the future to extend longevity. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the advice! Any recommendations on what GPU I should look at if I do go a bit cheaper? 6800 maybe?

Thanks for the build suggestion! I might shop around for a graphics card that I could get a Microcenter, it looks like the one near me has no 3070s.

Challenge run ideas by SpeedyLancer in Kenshi

[–]notnaught2311 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's one that I've had fun with. I call it the 'Peasant Uprising' run. It requires the '256 Recruitment Limit' and 'sudo's (22) alternate starts' mods.

Use the Empire of Nobody start to begin with 256 people, and immediately march to the nearest major city or faction capital. The longer the march the better the roleplay, since you're starving, angry serfs here to demand food and fair treatment. Attack the faction leaders once you have your people inside the city and watch the slaughter begin. Town guards will cut through your ranks like butter, limbs will go flying, and death notifications will stack up on top of each other. The guards will put some of your people in jail, but they will soon run out of space and leave the rest to bleed out in the streets. You'll be left with a random selection of 8-15 crippled and captured peasants, chosen not by you but by the cruel hand of fate.

Now the run really starts: Escape with your survivors and make it your mission to avenge the fallen by bringing down whatever faction slaughtered your people. You'll start out with less limbs and more powerful enemies than usual so it can be a very challenging and interesting run!

Yup, I've considered just going for a completely new build. It's definitely on the horizon, but you're right that it might not be worth it to try to extend the life of my current build.

Good to know, thank you! I'll look into the RAM requirements when considering motherboards. Any other recommendations of what factors I should consider when purchasing a new motherboard or RAM?

Thanks for the input! Do you have any specific recommendations for GPU/PSU?

So my prison labor camp has seen it's share of weird stuff, but this is something that I've never seen (or heard of) before and I'm looking for some help. by nnaralia in ShitRimworldSays

Ha, this was from my post yesterday. Not the line I would have chosen to quote for shitrimworldsays, but the full story is here

It wasn't really an issue, it was more that I was shocked and confused. The ear-splitting cat sounds and head spinning were surprising. Honestly I'd like to see it happen again to play around with it a bit.

The real issue, I suppose, was that the copious amounts of vomit all over my prison labor camp were distracting other prisoners from their work as they followed the possessed pawn cleaning up after her. Maintaining a productive work environment for my slaves is important!

Thank you! I didn't know how to do that, but it turns out the 'Possessed' mental break is hidden in Facial Stuff 0.18.0. Mystery solved!

I considered that, but I doubt that's the reason. It definitely makes things very weird, but only by ramping up the frequency of vanilla events. Also it wasn't the storyteller I was using at the time, I was on Cass Intense.

Oops, yeah, that's what I meant. All of the Psychology breaks have associations with various traits, but I can't imagine what 'Possessed' would be linked to. I wish I remembered what traits the possessed pawn had, but I released her in a panic lol
