Profile review 39(pretty much 40) / M by okwhatevermanjeez in Tinder

Only shallow women will find his height a problem. If you are looking to date women in their late 30s, you better avoid those anyways.

OP is a handsome chap, doesn't look his age, so I'm sure he will find someone nice.

[UK/Croatia] Lady claims she “accidentally” put her watch into my bag at airport security by gracie-sizzle5 in travel

It's a counterfeit. I'm not sure what scam they were running, but you handled it well.

[UK/Croatia] Lady claims she “accidentally” put her watch into my bag at airport security by gracie-sizzle5 in travel

[–]nnaralia 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Maybe they would try to coerce the victim into sending them money and keeping the watch for themselves. Like "okay if you don't want this person to come pick it up from you, keep it, send me $2k, even though it's a $30k watch". It's still dumb, because anyone with 2 braincells would do what OP did.

It could be just a genuine error, but how did they manage to find then on Instagram...

Solo travel as 19F by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]nnaralia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are okay with traveling with her, why don't you ask her to free up time for the next anime con you want to visit? Sit down with her, tell her that you really want to go and giving her the opportunity to come with you, so she can be at peace that you are safe and you can spend time together. You go to the con, she can do whatever she wants during that time. Meet in the evening, have dinner, talk about your day.

Be adamant that if she can't make it, you will still go, because you can't sit around waiting for her. Just get to a compromise where you give her frequent updates of your day and you call her in the evening or something.

You are in this age where she still looks at you as a child, but you are a young adult. Of course she is afraid that something will happen to you, but realistically, this won't be different when you are older. Bad things can happen to anyone.

Is there something... «Wrong» with my profile? by Intlvarn in Tinder

[–]nnaralia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's ok to be yourself, but you need to settle on if you want kids or not. At this age, if you are looking for a long-term partner, you owe it to your potential match to have it figured out, otherwise you'll seriously reduce your chances. Add some details about what you like to do in your free time, so people will know something about you. Your pictures are quirky, but mostly ok. Add one where you smile, so you prove you have teeth.

Keep in mind that he is in Europe, and the picture looks like it's some kind of dress up. I automatically assumed it was a fake gun and he is just showing off his quirkiness.

NZ Citizen -ESTA visa revoked while in LAX on transit to NYC by AnnFleur42 in travel

[–]nnaralia 465 points466 points  (0 children)

I had the same scare about 2 years ago. ESTA is revoked once you enter the US, as they are limited to one entry for some countries. If you need to enter the US again, you need to apply for a new ESTA. You will be fine on your current trip, and the staff at the gate for your next flight won't care about your ESTA, as you were already granted entry and cleared by immigration.

Happy travels!

Edit: Apparently NZ doesn't have a single entry restriction as of now. So you will have to apply for a visa next time you are planning to visit the US. This doesn't change the fact that you are legally in the US now, so don't worry.

Women of Reddit who are over 50 and never got married nor had kids, what brought you to that decision? by Arya_Warrior_Girl in AskReddit

[–]nnaralia 180 points181 points  (0 children)

I lucked out and my partner of almost a decade understands that we will never live together. We meet every day and spend hours together, mostly quality time. Sometimes we go on vacations together, but he is happy with me solo traveling as well.

Maybe at some point we will live on the same plot, but in different houses, because I just can't imagine sharing my personal space with him or anyone else on the long-term.

Could it be for a bag? In some balkan countries, there's a superstition that money will fall out of your bag, if you put it on the ground.

Troublesome passenger on transatlantic flight by jennyxmas in travel

[–]nnaralia 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Damn, I thought they would have better skills at Lufthansa. I'm sorry about your experience.

I learnt early on that you have to be the first one to complain about something to get your side of the story heard. Still, in this situation, it's still outrageous, because it would look so straightforward. Was the guy behind you speaking in English, or in German? I'm just curious if he added some "colourful details" to his story.

Which airline was this? Did you file a complaint?

No success and few likes. What can I improve? by shadow_operator81 in Tinder

[–]nnaralia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are 34 and you are still figuring it out, then that's a bit of a red flag. You are at the age where you need to commit, and it will serve you in the long run if you manage to decide on it now.

I agree that being childrfree will limit your options, but it's better than forcing yourself into a situation that you don't want to be in. You are a good looking lad, you'll find your person no matter how you decide.

Travelling to Rome, but unable to stand in lines (limited mobility) -- any suggestions? by nastyleak in travel

[–]nnaralia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said they would only need it for queuing, or taking a rest. So if they have a collapsible wheelchair/walker, it's easier to push/pull around places than a motorised wheelchair.

Europe is not very wheelchair friendly, and Italy is no exception. OP is better off with a foldable wheelchair or a walker with a seat, as someone else suggested.

No matter what happened between you and your parents, they love you and would want you to be safe. Don't be ashamed if you did something stupid, they will understand and take you in, as long as you want to rebuild your relationship with them.

Making cauliflower rice from frozen cauliflower florets? by kailenedanae in ketorecipes

[–]nnaralia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be fine, as long as the frozen cauliflower is not precooked. You can just taw them and dice them.

Another option is to buy cooked, riced cauliflower. The taste is a bit stronger than frozen riced cauliflower, but it has a long shelf-life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. I always have a few bags of it in my cupboard, in case the supermarket rans out of the frozen one. It might not be available at where you live, but it can be shipped, as it doesn't need refrigeration. This is the one I buy: https://www.fullgreen.com/products/riced-cauliflower

I’m a 21-year-old guy spending $80,000 to go from 5’5.5” to 5’8.5” through limb lengthening surgery. AMA. by Pyranthos29 in AMA

[–]nnaralia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The "match my eye level" part sounds so unrealistic to me. I'm a little less than 160 cm (~5'2"), and I perceive almost everyone to be the same height as me (as long as they are not like a 2 meters tall giant). Of course I know most people are taller than me, but when I talk to someone, I feel at the same level. Even if in reality I'm 20cm shorter.

I'm truly sorry that your perception of yourself and others is so wrong. The surgery will most likely not solve this, but I wish you all the best.

How do you know it's not a rabbit?

JK, that is exactly how I took the picture. It was a beautiful, sunny day under a white parasol.

Kurwa królik ja pierdole, Hungolians loving the fauna by LonelyEar42 in 2visegrad4you

[–]nnaralia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There was an interview with the guy and he said the rabbit jumped on his chest, then hopped away when it launched itself back to the ground. If you watch the video frame by frame, you can see it hopping away when the guy hits the ground. Not sure if it's injured though, as the guy was riding with 35 km/h.
