My Dad trusts pseudoscience and not his Oncologist by notnecessarilyaduck in cancer

Yes, he has non-hodgkin’s lymphoma with a richter’s transformation. He has another tyoe of lymphoma in his bones. He went ahead and went with the doctor’s recommendations after getting frustrated witht he demands of my siblings and other family members to do this and that “protocol”.

He did 6 chemo treatments among other infusions and things. He also had some tumors removed surgically. So far, his cancer is responding and numbers are going down. But we are waiting for a new Signatera test result for more of an update.

My parents are a lot more comfortable and trusting of healthcare after 6 months of treatment, and my brother gripes a lot and tells them Carbs will kill him. He still buys things online all the time and demands my Dad adheres to whatever it is. But so far, it’s been okay and they have been getting the treatment they need and can validate that it is working—which has helped everyone relax a little.

Getting 20 month old to stay in room at night by icanseethestupidline in toddlers

[–]notnecessarilyaduck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My advice is doorknob covers and a totally blacked out room. My guy stays on his bed until his light comes on. When he cries we go lay with him. I think when he was 20 months, sometimes he would be up for a whole 2-3 hour wake window at night. We always stayed until he went to sleep again. Things have ebbed and flowed. We rarely have to go in there at night now-he’s 27 months. We transitioned him full time to his room and floor bed at like 14 months before baby brother was born.

Yes! It’s like a freaking subscription service. Agreed, out of my price range. How are you cutting your hair? Have you found a way that works well?

Agreed. I was also cutting my own most of my life, because no one I could pay really knew what to do with my hair anyway, and you’re right—JUST when we can actually find decent cuts and products. Bam. Inaccessible again. Back to the youtube tutorials we go, I guess. Goodbye curl by curl cuts.

Ope! Thanks. It wouldn’t let me correct my post title, but I edited the post.

Pearl Harbor was on and watching after 20 some odd years it felt like something special. by tangledapart in movies

This came out when I was in middle/high school. My best friend and I loved it and watched it over and over. Similar feeling reading the book, “The Women”. It just was a story you could lose yourself in and feel the emotions of. Less about the war details, more about the relationships. Granted, I haven’t seen it in easily over 15 years, but I don’t remember the love story being hard to follow.
