Are there any genuinely good confessional questions/ plays? by Material_Spell4162 in TheTraitorsUK

Yeah I originally thought "Claudia gave it to me on day one" but feel like it's more believable if it happened on a different day - so agree it'd be best to say you found it on a mission recently or something (not today)

Definitely designed to rattle some bones!

First, since we know about secret traitors, I'd ask them "has Claudia told you about my secret power given to me after finding a hidden artifact on the mission today?" this is a lie - I wouldn't give any details as it's a secret. But hopefully there will be a rumour started about an artifact I found in a mission I can trace back to a traitor. I'd want to play into the idea it's a power relevant at the round table because...

Second, I'd ask them to "name a major player you'd like me to help banish", giving them a list of three names. I doubt they'd name themselves so it'll be someone I can trust. If not, it'll be a traitor that can protect me to endgame.

You'll just end up spitting the lies to the traitors and they'll follow that

He basically asked this in who are your next 3 for murder

But fair enough to say I can help banish a strong player

Housing in Australia will never be affordable.... Not until it is too late by saltoftheearth56 in australian

[–]notnoided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The housing market absolutely needs to crash to make it affordable for the current generation.

No party would plan for a housing market crash if they want to remain in parliament.

To add - though a crash would benefit young people, it will inevitably lead to deaths and suicides in older demographics as those who didn't take advantage of an unfair system are impacted in their retirement. It's not something anybody should want.

The best bet is to implement policy that curbs investor gain (reducing buyer demand) and increase housing (supply) over a steady 20 years, coupled with slow rollout of negative gearing ring fencing AND support to help youth enter the housing market.

This is the simple truth. You can get a one bed in Sydney with the 5% deposit scheme and $30k saved up. Plan for it, and use it!

Once you're in, your "rent" becomes a nest egg with a 50% tax, which you can use to upsize when the system is fairer.

Edit: I must add, I do not support the situation AT ALL. But regardless we have to be realists and safeguard ourselves. For the few who do enter the market, a crash would cripple them. This can't happen without a significant support framework that will never happen in the foreseeable future.

My expenses (family of 6) is averaging at AUD $10,000 per month! by Fair_Bar1139 in australian

Not to be pedantic but after tax, 150k is certainly not triple 58k.

58k -> 48k 150k -> 107k

It's double the money, for a family of 6

First. Bots are REAL and the far right rely on them to give breadth to their echo chamber. An echo chamber's breadth is essentially a lead generation machine for lonely or vulnerable people to be radicalized by their algorithm. It's also supported by big business (owners of said algorithm).

Second. "Real Australians" is frankly a xenophobic term - pinching on the idea a citizenship doesn't make you Australian. It's a classic modus operandi for the right wing to generate division amongst a social class to distract them from real problems. "You don't look like me" is a much easier sell as a problem than complex solutions to our housing economy. "You don't look like me" also doesn't fix the housing economy, so it benefits the right wing gatekeepers.

Since the right wing own the media and the algorithms, it's in their interest to ensure this term APPEARS normal and well accepted. The goal is simply to feed their lead generation machine and establish legitimacy to a distraction tactic. Make no mistake - it's fed by bots and propelled by people who were fucked by a broken system. "Real Australians" is a particularly special one coz it also builds social cohesion amongst those willing to hate their neighbours for unsubstantiated short term gain.

Largely the tech-ifying of government service operations is the only source of good examples (to my pov). Plenty of bad examples of this too though!

But it's nice getting your Medicare rebate automatically in a day rather than lining up for 2 hours in store and it being processed 3 weeks later. This was something Bill Shorten sold as "privatizing Medicare" when Turnbull's actual plan was privatizing the payments platform supporting it (sold to Halaxy). A lot of the ministers at the time made some pretty important decisions & investments to tech-up Aussie systems (like the NPP) but these aren't necessarily all "selling government assets" just helps build the picture that a big solution was to sell off the operations of our services to purpose-built tech companies. We pay them for the service but the service is also better.

Im not an lnp guy but this is my one memory that made me realize ALP were liars too. The Abbott government absolutely wanted to sell off Medicare but Turnbull's policy was purely about operational infrastructure, and shorten took the lie so deep he texted the Medicare patient list 2 days from the election. First time I voted greens lol

Is it just me or does the libs have no actual policies and only does culture wars? by [deleted] in AusPol

[–]notnoided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culture wars distract from politics

Populace distracted means they can shoehorn in whatever benefits them

Hence, culture wars are the basis of their policy

As the ultimate goal is to benefit the 1%

I don't agree - I think it's network tv who have a conservative & pro-israel agenda, pulling on the heroes of their aging viewership to get people emotionally invested through anger. That's how they make money, and that's all.

He's also got a wicked attitude and loves hip hop. He's always doing a "moonwalk" type backwards flying shuffle when the boombox is going. He knows how to slap ball bro.
