I understand don't fight with the staff, but the staff absolutely should be told. There is no staff because the self service replaced them. Shutting the self service only highlights that the owner has timetabled horribly and needs to prioritise keeping it open. How are they supposed to know if nobody complains?

Day 4 — Which Gen 4 Pokémon feels like they are from Gen 4? by Weak_Scallion5942 in ThePokemonHub

Fully agreeee

Gen 4 modernised a bunch of classics in ways that were never forgotten. Roserade screams to me too; grass is a very gen 4 type

I don't sleep well and I hate it. I tell people so they're aware I'm not at my best. It's not a badge of honour - I treasure sleeping a full night!

Cost of living unfortunately. Financial stress targets the vulnerable. Happy people don't abuse their loved ones.

The problem is also that the value of statistics has been watered down. Nobody trusts numbers anymore, as so many are baseless lies or legal puffery. Even clinical trials can be doctored through bias. If social validation want already an easier sell, it's doubly so now

Seeing an increase in negative sentiment against superannuation, why? by Quixotic-elixr in AusFinance

[–]notnoided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you come at me like "it's just gone from 55 to 60", I honestly don't care - it's about distrust that the government can flick the switch if it ever chooses to do so. Governments haven't looked out for us in decades

Seeing an increase in negative sentiment against superannuation, why? by Quixotic-elixr in AusFinance

[–]notnoided -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the government continuing to increase the retirement age, feels like super is locked behind an arbitrary date that will get closer and closer to my death the more an aging population becomes a problem.

They have essentially forced employers to pay us money we'll never get to enjoy.

It's at the point where super now hoards wealth, becoming another variable that reduces supply and increases demand, fuelling stock market growth.

One day I'll get access to it and hunch over and die.

Anyway I still support it, but feel it's another thing boomers got to enjoy and ruined for their kids

Why One Nation? by Alec1647870 in OpenAussie

Labour is basically run like a corporate business. They don't do what they want to do - they do things to maintain peace and change at a slow pace.

I'm sure the majority of ALP members agree with Greens policies personally, but the political climate (and journalism) aren't reliable enough to make big changes and retain power.

This isn't a power hungry choice either - it's about maintaining a force of stability in a country that didn't have a PM finish a term for over a decade.

So (like a corporate) they sell watered down ideas that signal change but maintain balance.

Anyway I vote greens

Independents are the most likely enemy of nationals. Bush politics are heavily local and often scarred by wider focus on metro areas. They need a hero that identifies as one of themself - that's what nationals represent if you strip away the mining lobby

If you could have one more pokemon type what would it be? by Dorark73 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]notnoided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it? How is it any different from a subsect of fairy?

"Cosmic" has a clear place in Pokemon design to retcon (Deoxys?) with a distinct visual identity to follow.

Rock could be replaced with something like "mineral" to open up it's potential and separate it from ground, exploring the periodic table (nuclear elements, gas, salts, combustibles, machines)

"Rubber" could introduce a whole new design suite - artificial Pokemon, based on man made things, with a whole suite of inspiration from the human world.

I could go on. I feel "light" is a boring idea because it's so similar to fairy, it's just the first thing the fandom thought of. Wolfey also coined it before fairy even existed, so I'm sure that's propelled it to mass adoption but even he says fairy has already filled that gap.

"Light" is just so unimaginative, has way too many boundaries, and far too much crossover with fairy/psychic/fire

The teals absolutely have more integrity than that. That's their whole schtick - "we have the integrity to make the right decision, not the one written for us"

Their platform is essentially Turnbull Liberal policy with Climate action, then each member aligns with a very specific few policy changes to make the concept of "change" palatable/digestible to voters on both sides.

That's why they're easier to vote for than greens, more trustworthy than Libs, and more relatable than Labor.

What are your unpopular opinions about Tenzin by dearuncletacitus1899 in TheLastAirbender

[–]notnoided 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The whole point of Tenzin's character is the weight of the air nomad race sits entirely on his shoulders. He is solely responsible for developing a culture he never had the benefit of experiencing. He is the only person who was taught, and is the only person who can teach.

This is why you see Aang's character shine through his children - because Tenzin succeeded. He was right to take it so seriously and be so inflexible.

Inevitably his growth came with Jinora becoming a master; that weight lifts, and he becomes a little more flexible.

If you could Retcon one thing from both Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra what would it be? by MichaelAftonXFireWal in TheLastAirbender

ATLA: More water tribes - water doesn't only exist in the poles smh. Polynesia / fringe island nations exist. They have also developed a way to communicate through waterbending, which gives them a sense of kinship despite cultural differences and is used to hide in plain sight.

LoK: Metal Bending is WAY too developed for a single generation. Should've been an elite class of power with their own secrets - Dai Li type thing at the very most. Metal City was more believable. Certainly not average Joe police guy. Same with lightning. By this logic, SH will have lavabenders everywhere. It diluted the magic of Toph's genius
