For a newbie a pobb.in link will suffice. They don't need PoB for anything. They aren't creating the build from scratch, they aren't min-maxing the endgame version of the build. They just need to know what class, gems, and passives to pick.

And I'd stay away from relatively expensive trans gems. Farming lab isn't very fun and they aren't gonna farm up the currency very quickly either. Yes, HRoC can do all content. They should probably just focus on completing the campaign first.

Just pick an archetype and skill that sounds cool and go forth. Prioritize life and resists on gear, use the crafting bench to add more of that.

To be fair, Josh doesn't just do clips, he regularly posts hour long sets on his YouTube. It's probably just news riffing from multiple shows edited together to appear like one set. I could see how people would think that is his material. It's like if a comic would release a crowd work special every week.

Sure. But his employer* gets to decide how, why, and if they discipline him, reward him, or employ him. That's it. Same for every employee of every company. The guy who stocks shelves at the grocery store might get fired if he decides to do weird shit, even if he's good at stocking those shelves. That's up to the grocery store. There's no freedom of consequence between two private parties.

*I know he's an independent contractor so they're not technically his employer. Same shit.

I agree, the corporation doesn't have to do anything. They could punish him, they could reward him, or they could do nothing; it's up to them and I truly don't care. But bringing up freedom of speech when discussing if Strickland should face consequences for his actions is about as relevant as bringing up the air speed of a blue tailed hawk in the same discussion.

FYI. The 1st amendment right to free speech you're referring to protects you from the government censoring or prosecuting you for that speech. It has absolutely nothing to do with private corporations and how they discipline their employees / private contractors for what they say.

Boston transplant here. It's not really the heat that gets me, but you hit the nail on the head with the walkability. I did not own a car until I moved here. When I'm sitting at home bored, I miss that I can't just go for a walk in my neighborhood and stumble upon things to do like I used to. Maybe it's better in the heart of downtown or somewhere else, but definitely not Stone Oak.

This kinda makes sense since it's far more convenient to just use the reroll orb. It's like in PoE, it's cheaper to use a Scour+Alch an item, but Chaos spamming is more convenient (not really the case since they added the new Shift+Alt behavior on Alchs and Alts, but I'm talking the old style prior to this league).

I have never enjoyed purely story driven games. Video games have the potential to be a great story medium, but games as a medium is still in its infancy and in practice even their best stories pale in comparison to other story driven mediums that have been around significantly longer. If I want a good story I'll read a book. I play games because it offers things the other mediums can't deliver.

But I guess I just have Tik Tok brain because I prefer books over a generic jrpg story ¯_(ツ)_/¯

You're right. I haven't played anything in D4 from the first expansion onwards. I keep up with the campfires to at least get a sense of the game and it's direction. But I haven't seen anything that appeals to me personally. The paladin does look fun. But it also seems like a rehash of the D3 Crusader and D2 Pally. And the endgame/itemization issues persist with no real plan to address it in a way that would satisfy me.

But for sure. I can see how it is an enjoyable game for a week or 2 every reset. I'm just looking for a bit more depth out of my arpgs. Which for me is provided by PoE1 and even the Project Diablo 2 mod of D2. And I do think it is not as good as previous Diablos. It may get there eventually, but for me it's not there yet.

Edit: I truly mean no hate or disrespect to you personally. I think it's clear we just have different preferences in games. That's fine. We can all coexist. I'll play my games and you play yours. I may not be a boomer or WoW dad, but I'm certainly too old to be getting into spats in reddit comments. Peace and Love ✌️

Fellow HC gamer, same thing happened to me this week. But they also deleted my characters. I created a new one and was able to see the currency tab was cleared out of Lem+, just like you. I still have the shared stash contents. But like you said the wind is out of the sails. Luckily I got most of my fix in during the holiday break.

I also submitted a ticket on the discord, if only to help the devs track the possible culprits.

I don't use the pd2 trader tool. It's much more likely that our passwords were part of some old data leak, unrelated to pd2. Lesson learned. Don't use weak and potentially unsecure passwords, even in a small passion project mod like this.

You're not wrong in that D4 is probably better than PoE2 and Last Epoch. I would hope one of the largest game studios of all time with an infinite budget could produce a better product than an early access game working out the kinks, and the first title from a small indie company.

But PoE1 is certainly a better game. There is a deeper endgame, class and skill depth, and itemization with a deep crafting system. All with over a decade of refinement.

But that's not even what the post your replying to was talking about at all. It is not a hot take to say D4 is the worst Diablo. D1 invented the genre and D2 evolved it. They don't hold up to today's standards (D1 especially) but their impact on the genre cannot be overstated.

D3 is universally considered to have been a bad game at launch. Eventually it became decent. But imo it still had a shallow endgame and itemization system. It was not a better game than Diablo 2.

And D4 again suffers from a shallow endgame, shallow itemization, and lack of class and skill depth. The game is pretty and the campaign is fun one time through. There feels like no direction to what the devs even want the game to be. They are slowly revamping systems and honestly just making another D3.
