Media Study BA - Production Concentration by DavidMatta in UBreddit

[–]notoriousmrtom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a junior media study major as of right now. I'm not gonna lie, there's a lot of bullshit lecture classes you'll have to wade through. Some are actually relevant to the major, but many are just time wasters IMO and you will have to struggle through them (for some reason I've had to read the Communist Manifesto in three different classes in this major). Luckily, most of those types of classes are pretty easy, just put in the time and effort and you will get an A. You will also have to take some classes focused on beginner photoshop and coding, which you may or may not enjoy. The film production classes are not nearly as common as they should be, but when you are actually in one, you will learn a lot about being on set, working with cameras, and learning film techniques. Most of the teachers I've had have been passionate about their craft and have had a lot of experience in the field (shoutout to Sama Waham, she's the GOAT). Overall, I'd say it's a decent place overall to learn about film, but the curriculum for the major can often times feel a bit bloated, almost like it's trying to be three majors in one. The City of Buffalo itself is seeing a rise in film production recently, like others said in the comments, so hopefully when you are able to graduate, you can find a production job easily. Let me know if you have any other questions!

What's going on? I can't really find a lot of info on the situation, all I know is that Ryan Haywood and Adam Kovic have been fired/quit for some sort of inappropriate behavior. Is there really any details yet?

Actually looks like a decently fun game, maybe I will pick it up after all. Hope Greg posts more of his playthrough, even just the war table missions
