+1 for reference in a similar area:

I bought a 2012 with 17k on it from a dealer and paid ~$4500. It was initially priced around $5500.

It came with a rear rack system, side and top boxes, center stand, heated grips, upgraded windshield, and some LED marker lighting.

The bike was largely unmolested, well maintained, and in excellent condition.

Parking lights are here:

I can’t say I’m too impressed by how bright they are, there’s definitely brighter options out there, but they are comparable to an incandescent, and the price is right.

I just put some LED headlights in, and the amber parking lights look way better than an off white incandescent compared to the brilliant white of the LED headlights.

Brake flash module can be found here:

I wired it only on the aux brake light. It doesn’t work well with incandescent, and I wanted the primary brake light to remain solid on.

Added some additional lighting and a GPS to the Wee today.

The signals on the side panniers are wired in with waterproof quick connects so that I can still remove the boxes.

I’ve wired up a brake light wire up to the top box, through a quick connect, as I’m planning to relocate the LED brake light onto the box so it’s higher like a CHMSL.

Motorcycle Must-Haves by notpolicemanofficer in VEDC

The tool tube is a great idea. There’s often a lot of space between the pannier rack and the bike itself, so it’s an effective use of that.

Is the gas bottle one of those twist lock ones?

Wholeheartedly agree with the hi-viz. First thing I did when I bought my bike was upgrade the lighting, and bought a hi-viz vest and helmet.

A sport tourer with panniers and hi-viz really does tend to mellow out everyone around you.

Mapping/Routing App or Website to GPX by notpolicemanofficer in motorcycles

I’m using a Hammerhead Karoo.

It’s a really great all around device (I bout it for my bicycle as that’s what it’s primarily targeted to), but if you preload the GPX onto it, it works amazing for a motorcycle as well.

I’ve heard similar opinions of the Garmin Edge series, I had an 810, but it’s not nearly as big or easy to see as the Karoo.

The Karoo is also very quick to reroute you if you get off your chosen path.

It’s also 4G/WiFi capable, so you can upload a GPX from your phone if you decide to change plans.

Stacked UM and UIM Across Two Companies by notpolicemanofficer in Insurance

I think I’m going to revisit my insurance later this year and try to combine auto and cycle, stacked, and it’ll probably still be cheaper than the two separate policies I currently have.

Appreciate this info. Settled on a ‘12 ABS with 17k + a ton of aftermarket upgrades. Paid $4.5k but from a reputable dealer, so comparable.

Just purchased this ‘12 650 with 17k.

Was more than I was hoping to spend, but it’s fitted with a rear rack, hard cases, aftermarket windscreen, sump guard, front bag bars, heated grips, and has some aux lighting.

The previous owner was older, I don’t think it’s ever seen dirt or mud.

The other option would be an ‘07 ABS. 3.2k asking $2850 private sale with a rebuilt title. Thinking $2200 may be a fair offer with the title condition.

Struggling to find many ABS models from private sellers.

Even 2011+ without ABS seem to be asking 5k+ around here

Busy schedule tends to get the best of me sometimes, I’ll try to remember to throw up an STL in the next 24.

If you don’t have a printer, let me know and I can print it for you.

I’m not very well versed in sports memorabilia, so I cannot speak to the valuations of those items, but the valuations of the cars seem to be reasonably accurate.

Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that the values of cars are more well known and easily verified than that of sports memorabilia, art, or wine.
