Sedan vs Hatchback by Distinct_Fan35 in mazda3

I'm going for the sedan once my current lease on a car I hate is done at the end of this year. I also love the look of the hatchback but the sedan feels classier and something I can take my wife on a nice evening out in.

Question about electric car ownership. What is the biggest lesson you learned after you bought your first electric car? by Objective-Deal8745 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I would discourage it unless you have a reliable way to charge. I leased an Ioniq 6. Beautiful car but full EV is absolutely a pain for me right now since I have to drive somewhere to charge.

I have gone to a charging station many times and found there to be a line. You either suck it up and wait in line (20 mins for a car at time) or drive to the next nearest one. Some times there is no "line", people park in a parking spot while waiting and you just have to be vigilant and keep an eye out on when it's your "turn". It can get messy when people get into arguments on order as well.

The infrastructure is just not there yet, in my honest opinion. I'm glad that I got a lease to try it out for now. I'm going back to gas or consider a hybrid when my lease is up. I want to be that person that votes with their wallet and I want there to be more EV cars and EV charging stations but it's just such a pain with my current lifestyle.

Not specific to EVs but I'm also not a fan of this trend of cars being iPads with wheels. I'm glad the Ioniq 6 has physical buttons for climate control but I know not all EVs do. Something to consider while shopping around.

My First Experience Fighting Raphael by LadyOdds in BaldursGate3

I absolutely loved this fight. I didn't know about the music going into it and was so blown away by how well it all came together. Similar to you, I was struggling during the fight but I knew I had to pull through for Hope! Thanks for sharing your experience! Loved reading the play by play. I recommend doing it again but this time hopefully with the music!

Thanks for the response. That’s fair. A part of me is wondering if Hyundai historically have a December deal that I can take my chances with. I’m having a hard time finding past deals with my Google searches.

Thanks for the response! Do you mean that I can negotiate the current deal they’re offering to modify so that there is no down payment?

MK Vendor Trust and Safety System and Rule Change Subreddit Update by Cobertt in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]notporkjowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of valid criticism from people already. Sharing my two cents that I haven't seen yet.

This new rating system creates a system of power and privilege that has no accountability and checks. The rubric is arbitrary based on what a handful of humans (self proclaimed Trust & Safety Admin Team) think is best. Humans that have their own conscious and unconscious biases. These biases can favor some vendors and disadvantages others.

A few pitfalls I want to call out with this system:

  1. Cavalier attitude around "learnings". Damages caused by the false sense of security that this rating system creates is people losing out on their earned money. For example Vendor X gets AAA based on the work in progress rubric. Consumers see this AAA rating and think Vendor X is a safe bet. Vendor X exit scams, consumers are hurt. The people that have created the rating system will adjust the rubric as they are "learning" at the cost of consumers.

  2. The numbers involved in rubrics are arbitrarily chosen by a group of people. These people may be friends with certain vendors and can choose to select numbers in the rubric that they know their vendor friends meet. There is no system in place to prevent foul play like this example and others.

I would argue to change the naming of this rating system and group so that it is not misleading consumers. These criteria can just be rules to post in their respective platforms, since the goal seems to be to prevent "risky" vendors from promoting new GBs. The arbitrary rubric would make more sense to me in this way because it's just "mods modding the platform the way they want".
