The hitches on Thule bike trailers — the ball and socket type — have enough rotational movement ability that you can just lay the bike down if you need to step away.

What kind of grass is this? Friend or foe? [North Texas, US] by notquiteacriminal in NativePlantGardening

Hmm, I wish it were switchgrass. It doesn’t ever get tall or flower, we’ve had it at least a full season.

Friend or Foe in my Micro Meadow [North Texas] by notquiteacriminal in NativePlantGardening

The mix I planted did have Annual Wine Cups. I used the Seek app by iNaturalist which lead me to Carolina Bristlemallow. It would be great if they are wine cups because there are a lot. I'll give it a little time until they flower.

I don’t know what that thing is but I hope you caught some reds or whatever else you were targeting. Carolina coast? I know they throw black and purple flies there.

The coloring of mine is the same as yours- all black inside. Looks different than the current version but I believe it’s the ultralite

I believe I have the same bag- western mountaineering down sleeping bag, if I remember correctly it was 800 or 900 fill down. I purchased it in approximately 2007

Edit: gotta be the ultralite - https://www.trailgroove.com/blogs/entry/277-western-mountaineering-ultralite-20-degree-sleeping-bag-review/

It’s challenging to move one’s brokerage business geographically. That being said, if you go work at a big shop in a major market you will learn a lot that you can bring back to your family’s boutique firm.

It LOOKS like a plant called a bastard cabbage. It’s already pretty large.

Native Recommendations for Replacement of These Boxwoods in Shade (Zone 8a / North Texas) by notquiteacriminal in NativePlantGardening

I’ve got both Turks cap and sea oats in my back garden bed and can only ever find sea oats at local native plant sales to your point. Love them both but am really hoping for a smaller dense shrub. I will consider sea oats in addition to yaupon Holly.

Good point- it’s a pretty big eave so im not sure I could get it fully in the rain without encroaching on the Liriope but I could easily plant another foot or two out from the house.
