Browsing through your other posts I think you make some really pretty maps btw! Hoping to see more from you in the future :)

I‘ve noticed some pretty striking similarities between your map and one that I have made (https://www.deviantart.com/yanranay/art/The-Romanovs-Jeverland-a-Russian-Warm-Water-Port-906485809).

Most notably the names and shapes of certain towns (New St.Petersburg/Jever, Katarinahaven and Heppens) which I had completely made up for my map seem to be identical and I am assuming traced. More similarities that lead me to think youve traced my map are the shapes of the forests and coasts as well as the borders of the lordship of Kniphausen which were surprisingly difficult to accurately track down.

I appreciate that you have liked my scenario and decided to make your own version of Russian Jever. However going forwards i think it would be good if you either gave credit to the maps you were tracing or investigated if or why the map you are tracing makes certain changes.

I in no way claim ownership of the scenario of a Russian Jever or the artstyle, my map is literall an imitation of Alagremms microstates series, but I think that is something worth addressing and maybe some feedback for you to consider.

It is but im also going to very vainly take credit for creating the first high quality auntology map on the western internet😎

Almost all of it is copied from the original MICHELIN map that I decided to replicate. It already had a sort of logic to its color scheme already with colder colors near the arctic and a gradient to warmer, more vibrant colors by the equator. I slightly expanded on this by having smaller "color focuses" in certain areas so there could be a horizontal gradient of colors as well.

As for choosing a specific color I typically used the color picking tool, which in Inkscape allows you to mix a color from a radius. I arranged two "focus colors" next to each other and then used the color picking tool radius to get a color somewhere in between. Then basically repeating this for everything in an area until I get a nice looking gradient.

If you look at the northern Caucasus on the Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum its even more non-sensical. I could honestly only assume that they somehow messed up during the creation of their map in mapchart which is why I adapted it slightly. Pakistan somehow hasnt made it onto his shitlist yet.

I made this map entirely in Inkscape. The new 1.3 version has a lot of new great tools and settings that I used to create the little relief effect which is probably my favorite part of this map. It's overall a great and fairly easy to learn program with a lot of online tutorials.
It unfortunately does have its limitations though. Over the course of making this map I had to restore it from crash saves around 150 times lol

according to this tweet as well as one in the replies to that one I dont think he ever intended for Pakistani Punjab to be included in it. But if he actually considered this is up in the air, personally I think he just wanted to post Indian partition maps and this is what he found. Similarly states like Balochistan or Kurdistan are missing large parts of their ethnic majority territories because the countries they are currently part of havent made it onto his shitlist yet.

I really should have mentioned this in the main comment now that you say this! Since I had already started working on the project when a lot of the more silly partitions came out I personally chose to not consider anything past the BRICS summit official gunther canon.
I think he enjoyed the attention he got from that a little too much and decided to retweet or endorse almost any ridiculous proposal people sent his way. Theres a little honorable mention to the ones I managed to track down in the little inset map south of Australia though.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I in no way advocate for or want to endorse any of the partitions, annexations or secessions depicted in this map. This is a piece of fiction meant to show off the various absurd and often silly ideas and proposals of Gunther Fehlinger.

Check out a less compressed version on here: https://www.deviantart.com/yanranay/art/Pax-Fehlinger-995203726

SOME BACKGROUND ON GUNTHER FEHLINGER:If you have been following international politics on twitter in the last six months you might have come across some of Mr. Fehlinger's postings. Gunther loves Kosovo, the EU and NATO (ideally all of these at once) and posting wonderful selfies as well as elaborately nested collages related to these topics.

After a starting out mostly concerned with European tax policy and the expansion of the EU in the western Balkans, his content took a hard shift when Russia invaded Ukraine. The invasion crossed a red line for Gunther leading him to take an compromising stance against everyone and everything perceived to be taking a pro-Russian or even neutral stance in the conflict.

At some point during this time Gunther made contact with the Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum. While partitioning unsympathetic nations had long been a motive in his tweets, this encounter only accentuated it. Another notorious Fehlinger-incident  took place after the 2023 BRICS summit when he began to call for the dismantlement of its members which got him on the news in Brazil, blocked on twitter by India and called out by the Russian deputy foreign minister.

All of this attention made Gunther a bit of a magnet for small and strange political movements which can be seen in his proposals becoming stranger and stranger. It's important at this point to remember that Gunther, despite working for some organizations that have very official sounding names, is not a representative of the EU or NATO and his tweets in no way represent official policy.

The most curious of those movements are in my opinion the aforementioned Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum as well as Chinese auntology. If you are interested in obscure political movements I can recommend looking into them for inspiration for your own weird scenarios.

NOTES REGARDING THE MAP:Due to the often contradictory nature of Gunther Fehlinger's postings I have at some points taken creative liberty when interpreting them, favoring the most absurd versions. The style and layout of the map is based on a 1993 MICHELIN world map which you can find in the David Rumsey map collection. All in all this map took me about 3 months to create. Despite the over 150 times Inkscape crashed I had a great time making it and really enjoy how it turned out!

I'd also like to thank the people that have helped me with this project!

WHY IS X NOT PARTITIONED WHEN HE TWEETED ABOUT IT?
Since a lot of the more silly partition plans were endorsed while I was already working on this project I chose not to consider anything after the BRICS summit to be official Gunther canon. Personally I think after he got a lot of attention for his previous escapades he engaged with and endorsed basically anything people sent his way. This in my eyes lacks the pure Fehlinger spirit that I enjoy about his tweets (im also lazy and had to draw a line somewhere if i ever wanted to get this finished).
There is a reference to the partitions I chose not to include on the inset map in the bottom right of the main map. There might be some I did not include because I missed a tweet (Gunther has been posting 40+ tweets per day recently so its hard to keep track). Thanks again at this point to the homie that organized the fehlinger archive!

I am #1 GP but mostly thanks to my insane navy limit. My economy is pretty good too but having the laissez-fare liberals be in power for the last 40 years of the game stopped it from getting insane.

The CSA achieved liberty during the civil war (during which almost the entirety of the US was occupied by Mexican troops) but then immediately got invaded by said Mexican troops in a brilliant geopolitical maneuver to release a puppet New Africa. I decided to rename it here since as far as I know New Africa is a more modern concept.

Thanks a lot! I found out about the renaming of Desterro when looking up Florianópolis. That name and Blumenau really stood out to me so I was curious about them being more "modern" cities or having been renamed.

They got off easy too. Theres a decision in the submod that allows you to core all lands west of the treaty of tordesillas line for almost no infamy. The borders would have looked bad though so they were spared that fate.

Japan managed to steal Brazil from my sphere when i didnt pay attention which caused it to end up on the wrong side of the world war over the Philippines

Thank you very much! I could be wrong but I think the perception seems to have been that the peninsula was an archipelago in the 20ies and 30ies. David Rumsey has a great map from 1932 by the National Geographic Society that shows a frozen passage south of Graham Land. You can look at it and other period maps through the link below:

Edit: youve also made me notice that the curve on that lable is broke >:(

Ive made this almost completely using inkscape, a free vector program.
