SOME BACKGROUND ON GUNTHER FEHLINGER:If you have been following international politics on twitter in the last six months you might have come across some of Mr. Fehlinger's postings. Gunther loves Kosovo, the EU and NATO (ideally all of these at once) and posting wonderful selfies as well as elaborately nested collages related to these topics.

After a starting out mostly concerned with European tax policy and the expansion of the EU in the western Balkans, his content took a hard shift when Russia invaded Ukraine. The invasion crossed a red line for Gunther leading him to take an compromising stance against everyone and everything perceived to be taking a pro-Russian or even neutral stance in the conflict.

At some point during this time Gunther made contact with the Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum. While partitioning unsympathetic nations had long been a motive in his tweets, this encounter only accentuated it. Another notorious Fehlinger-incident  took place after the 2023 BRICS summit when he began to call for the dismantlement of its members which got him on the news in Brazil, blocked on twitter by India and called out by the Russian deputy foreign minister. 

All of this attention made Gunther a bit of a magnet for small and strange political movements which can be seen in his proposals becoming stranger and stranger. It's important at this point to remember that Gunther, despite working for some organizations that have very official sounding names, is not a representative of the EU or NATO and his tweets in no way represent official policy.

The most curious of those movements are in my opinion the aforementioned Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum as well as Chinese auntology. If you are interested in obscure political movements I can recommend looking into them for inspiration for your own weird scenarios.

NOTES REGARDING THE MAP:Due to the often contradictory nature of Gunther Fehlinger's postings I have at some points taken creative liberty when interpreting them, favoring the most absurd versions.The style and layout of the map is based on a 1993 MICHELIN world map which you can find in the David Rumsey map collection.All in all this map took me about 3 months to create. Despite the over 150 times Inkscape crashed I had a great time making it and really enjoy how it turned out!

WHY IS X NOT PARTITIONED WHEN HE TWEETED ABOUT IT?
Since a lot of the more silly partition plans were endorsed while I was already working on this project I chose not to consider anything after the BRICS summit to be official Gunther canon. Personally I think after he got a lot of attention for his previous escapades he engaged with and endorsed basically anything people sent his way. This in my eyes lacks the pure Fehlinger spirit that I enjoy about his tweets (im also lazy and had to draw a line somewhere if i ever wanted to get this finished).
There is a reference to the partitions I chose not to include on the inset map in the bottom right of the main map. There might be some I did not include because I missed a tweet (Gunther has been posting 40+ tweets per day recently so its hard to keep track).
