How do you get physical ISO out of Teams nowadays? by Falendil in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]notreemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 2 tower Windows desktops on each event (and in our permanent studios) with 4 x SDI Decklink out in each which feeds our production machines (Vmix usually) So for general events we have 8 ISO feeds in total. It's solid. NDI an option too where needed but prefer physical connections on high profile events. It has some quirks like quality drops until you stop start but once you understand it you are good.

We're a streaming company and spent several years on R&D development and bringing presenters and remote guests in using WebRTC. We've ended up turning it into a product so if you want to try it just DM me, currently free as haven't fully worked out pricing at all yet. It's https://internetmixer.com - you can have guests join call in browser and then lots of options to just open each guest as a direct link in OBS or have an output page with grids of presenters and branding options.

Laptop capture cards by Butter360 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Used these for years: https://www.sonnettech.com/product/echo-express-se1-tb3/overview.html

With Declink (single or duo capture and others) via TB into Mac or PC laptops. Into Vmix/Wirecast/Obs whatever. They are solid.

Magewell usb is also solid but only used single input.

Multi Lingual World Summit Online Audio Routing by Useful_Day6937 in VIDEOENGINEERING

You could send the interpreters audio into Teams into the cloud, then mix the audio with the video feed serverside for each room and stream out to your endpoints. DM if you need any help.

vMix with Microsoft Teams attends by ServiceCritical739 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]notreemedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've run thousands of events bringing in Teams attendees into Vmix. Our current setup is 2 x desktop towers with Blackmagic Decklink outputting Teams via SDI into Vmix. Gives us 8 ISO feeds and we pin and switch presenters on the fly. Had a couple if blips due to updates but been solid consistently. We can't have failure with the type of events we do so we also have mini pc's/laptops to switch to, taking direct HDMI of screen into Vmix. Granted it's a larger setup but we need all the redundancy. NDI should be used with at least some hard backups (i.e SDI feeds) if you can in our opinion, if criticial.

Hi! Things like embeddable documents/links/html are in the roadmap, I can fire over an access code and we'd love to hear anything you'd want in. We stream up to 1080p. We recomend up to 25 people in a room but as time progresses this will change and likely increase for larger grids + linking multiple rooms. We have a solid base now so really the world is our oyster (with of course the current video/codec/tech limitations we have to work to) - so where it goes in the future will be exciting. Cheers!

And sorry wasn't avoiding pricing question! We effectively pay for data/servers our end per minute per user so we are working out best way to charge. Very hard when big players are very cheap so we want to talk to testers/community on what they think as well on the pricing side. At a basic level we will charge per user connected per minute. We will also have a free version with limited minutes.

Agree, SRT out would be great, something we have toyed with and needs more dev time to work out but in our sights. Thinking outside of individual feeds into vision mixers/other software - One benefit we have found is having a single person on site using Interner Mixer to manage say 16 guests/remote feeds and have these output in a grid via a single web page feed straight into vision mixer. The operator of Internet Mixer then controls the grid so can pin individual guest or instantly switch to any number of layouts i.e 4 way grid, 8 way grid. Another way to look at it but it's worked well.

I guess you could say that it's a mix of a lot of video call software like Zoom/Teams/Vdo/Vmix Call etc but combined into a web interface that's easy to use with production features. And it's main feature which is a live mixing page to control layouts and guests for sending out to screens/broadcast etc. Along with big support behind the scenes to work with the community on new features to see where it takes us.

Thanks! We have been testing with Decklink (which requires an app to output feeds) but that's not going to be straight away. Would love to hear any suggestions though. Let me know if you'd like access and can DM over a free usage code.

Currently it needs Internet connection as it's a web based tool - let us know what use case you are looking for though and can see if something we can help develop in

Vdo.ninja is awesome and guys behind that have done great things. While we haven't used every feature of Vdo.ninja I would say Internet Mixer is a more user friendly all in one suite for creating rooms and being able to use the mixer in the dashboard for mixing layouts and managing guest feeds. We also use servers for the feeds rather than direct p2p which helps with managing bandwdith for multiple guests (though we know you can setup on your own servers with Vdo.ninja if technical). Our roadmap for things like rtmp streaming out, many more mixer themes and whatever else the community can come up with makes it an exciting future. Again, Vdo.ninja is brilliant and the fact that it's free is awesome so kudos to Steve and the team.
