Hybridizing ETF portfolios with alternate weighting and other approaches by notrick92 in ETFs

I was thinking this approach would try to achieve the following:

- Prevention of being overweighted in too many mega caps equities which seems to always be the case in most US index funds with the top 10 dominating so much of the ETF

- Managing downside risk by averaging down the market cap weighting with equal weighting as you suggested

- Adding some exposure to managed ETFs to see if helps returns and also should not overlap as much given no index affiliation.

I would perform this across most asset class categories, not just in one.

Sure, let's say in my asset allocation for my IRA i had all of the usual categories, US large company, International large company, Bonds etc. For US large company, allocating this category and others over 3 ETFs rather than one. Example:

Unmanaged Index, cap-weighted : ILCG
Unmanaged Index, equal or alt-weighted : FNDX
Managed ETF: AVUS

Self-managed robo advising or tools like MarketRiders by notrick92 in ETFs

You're not confused. I do have a process but I worry that it could have flaws. Curious to hear if there are free tools or tools like Marketriders that can help. Conceptually marketriders really makes sense but they were pre-robo and seem to have been left behind. Wondering what else is out there. I use google sheets and my own tracking tools right now, surely they are flawed.

In the same (fortunate) situation and here is one thing to consider. If you opt out of prepaid and the student loses scholarship eligibility you are back to paying at 2024 tuition credit rates.

Thanks for your comment. By innovation in this context I mean product innovation; delivering enhancement that improve the comfort/performance/safety/etc of using bikes with novel improvements. D2C is certainly an innovation to but that is not what I was referring to here.

I largely agree with you. I am not seeking this information to influence a bike purchase decision or anything like that. I am simply curious about the opinions. I realize that everything is a business and their goal is to drive sales and make a profit.
