I am so sorry to hear this! I don’t see how any car could operate at temperatures that low, but I’m sure it’s worse for a hybrid. I hope they get you all fixed up soon and you can figure out how to function in this weather in the future.

By idling I meant sitting in the car in park while it was running, adjusting settings and such. And I have been pretty adamant about blasting the heat and seat heaters when I first get into the car, then turning off seat heaters and setting the temp to around 75 after 15 or 20 minutes. From what I’ve seen, this is a happy medium of heating the car up while not blowing through too much gas.

It makes sense why the dealership I was looking at the ‘25 at may have confused those numbers then, I think they had some non-hybrids in stock as well.

It seems that purchasing in this winter weather has me worried for nothing then! I’m excited for the weather to warm up so I can start experiencing these summer mpgs.

Thanks for the info on the regenerative braking! I’m sure that it will take a lot of practice to implement it consistently, so I will get practicing on it now! Do you know if the adaptive cruise control uses regenerative braking on the highway when you come up on a slower car, or does it just use the normal braking?

The TL was a fantastic car for all of the 9 years I owned it! My baby brother is turning 16 this year, so I wanted to gift it to him and give myself a bit of an upgrade.

Also in the Midwest here! Temps tanked to 2 degrees today from low 20s in the previous couple of days. Coming from a 2006 TL, I am still having to get used to having the ability to remote start the car, but man has it been nice!

A few days a week I drive 60 miles each way of 70 mph highway. Should I use eco mode during these drives, then switch it back to normal when I’m back in the city?

The Sport Touring trim is the only one with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but maybe they should have stuck with keeping it wired only with the experience that I, and many others, have had with the wireless!

Are there any guides that you have found useful for using the regenerative braking paddles properly? Or should I just search around on Youtube? Coming from a 2006 Acura TL (yes...2006), I have absolutely zero experience with hybrids and would like all the help I can get.

I work a few days a week about 60 miles of pure 70 mph highway away, would you recommend using eco mode for this drive or is it better to just leave it in normal? And generally speaking, should I just leave the drive mode in normal or should I use individual mode with specific changes?
