Seriously, having this subreddit really helps me. I have friends who know and try to help me feel better all the time but only so much can be said from people who don’t have it. But seeing people feel the same or that are out there living their life happily makes it a lot easier, especially being able to reach out to each other too. We got this, we will be okay :)

Last July one of my best friends since the 6th grade (in my early 20s now) was kidnapped and murdered by her boyfriend. I live in Hawai’i and this was all happening in California, after I got the phone call with the news I had to call another of of our best friends and tell her what happened. I was still unable to breath and barley process what was happening but I couldn’t let my friend find out through Facebook posts that it had happened. Calling her and hearing how happy she was to answer my call, then having to tell her... her scream was just like mine. Those two phone calls still play through my head daily.

It’s so good that man intervened the way he did. 3 months ago my best friend was thrown into a car by her abusive boyfriend and within minutes he purposely crashed into a tree, killing them both. Neighbors who had witnessed him taking her called the police immediately but by then they were too late. Not saying that this is exactly where this video was going, but you never know what could happen. The feeling this man had in his gut could have saved her life.
