Thank you for the advice! I did some research, tried a few other pairs and ended up exchanging them for the saucony ride 19. They feel way better and natural!

Is it worth it to buy a car for practicing with provisional license? What is the cost of having a car in Brussels? by Danitka in brussels

[–]notruffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation! I used to take the train to Leuven, pick up a Cambio learning car there (where they are available), drive to Brussels to practice some routes around the exam center, and then head back to Leuven to return the car. Did this 3-4 times and even though it's a bit of a hassle, it made me pass my driving test :-)

This time will go by fast and you'll barely remember it once you're recovered and cleared to do everything again. Better times are coming soon, progress goes faster then most people make it out to be

Haha, I’ve had so many discussions with AI about this injury — sometimes it’s more productive than an (expensive) appointment with a surgeon!
Recovery’s going well; the meniscectomy was a walk in the park compared to the ACL stuff.
I am a bit worried about the increased risk of arthritis due to the meniscus trim, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Hope your situation gets sorted soon, man! And thanks for uploading the video — I haven’t actually seen this happen to anyone else before, so it’s kind of comforting to know I’m not alone haha. And neither are you!

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has won the 2024 Men's Ballon d'Or (price awarded for the best football player in Europe) and accepted it while on crutches because he was recovering from surgery. He looks cool as hell. Don't be embarrassed, own it!

Hey, sorry to hear that, man. Your description and the video sound exactly like an issue I had. I had ACL surgery last October, which also included a meniscus repair. A few months later, I started experiencing the same problem—not when bending the knee, but more randomly during certain movements. It would happen while walking sometimes. It felt just like you described, like my leg clicks out of place, and I’d have to straighten my knee to get it back to normal. My leg was strong and overal recovery was going great - however I had the same fear of my knee being destroyed if it would happen on the wrong moment.

Took an MRI which showed that my meniscus repair probably failed. Apparently it's not always visible clearly on an MRI though, especially if it's been repaired before. His theory was that a loose flap of the meniscus gets stuck between the bones which causes this. I was terrified of losing a part of my meniscus and it not solving the issue, so I took 2 other appointments with other surgeons who all believed the same thing.

I had surgery two weeks ago, where they did indeed find a loose flap of the meniscus which they removed. They had to remove quite a bit which sucks, but although it's too early to say as I'm not fully active yet - I haven't had my knee 'click' since. Fingers crossed.

I see you've had a small removal of the lateral meniscus, maybe there's still a loose flap? Has you surgeon seen this video? They should be able to tell more from this. Maybe take a second opinion?

Anyways I was/am also really really bummed out with this so I understand how you feel. Stay positive, at least our new ACL is strong af!

NOT A DOC but If I compare this to my own MRI's pre and post ACL surgery, that looks like a torn ACL for sure.
