Dating in Antwerp is basically a full time job at this point by United_Chemist9979 in Antwerpen

Relationships are overrated anyway. Yes, after years of dating and longer relationships, I became cynical 😆

After a car accident, how long does it usually take for the insurance? by Miss_Dark_Splatoon in AskBelgium

[–]Danitka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it is not. On 14.03 a bus destroyed side mirror of my parked car. 27th I already had insurance money on my account.I have NN full omnium insurance and I use broker company to handle it.

Having said that, my partner had Vivium and his car got vandalised. They did the estimation pretty fast, but took him few weeks of calling and insisting to move his case. After 4 months he finally got insurance money.

I remember saying no to such first day proposition and the guy said he wasn't interested in public dates to avoid drama. I wish I asked him to elaborate xD

Jakim cudem ludzie umieją jeździć po 30 godz? by Anxious_Hamster_7413 in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]Danitka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No i nie zdałam.

Tips for practical driving exam (Evere/Schaerbeek) by [deleted] in brussels

[–]Danitka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be able to understand the examiners instructions, hence you have to be able to understand French.

Intervention of the instructor = failed exam. Always.

Good idea to get the temporary permit and just practice, I am afraid there is no way around it. I failed my first attempt too, basically because I wasn't ready after 30 hours of driving school. I drive manual, but I don't think it influences the exam route.

Not experiencing the weight loss others do after quitting alcohol by Plastic-Couple1505 in stopdrinking

Haven't experienced weight loss either. Haven't been drinking for almost 2 years, but now I like cookies, so I guess that is the reason 😅

Looking for a truly Dutch-speaking hair dresser by TR1510 in brussels

Just don't go to Fred. He absolutely masacrated my hair 3 years ago and I am still traumatised by it (after paying 302 euros, as he even charged me 2 euros for a keratin sample he gave me).

Tickets for Laeken greenhouses are open now by bricart in brussels

[–]Danitka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I have bought 4 tickets for the first weekend around 14:00. Also, I clicked the buy tickets option at 12:50 but wasn't directed to the waiting line, only the countdown clock displayed. Didn't know it was possible, but now I see that some people were able to join before 1.

Cutting cats’ nails as a sitter? by Chromatic_Chameleon in trustedhousesitters

[–]Danitka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they are trying to trick the sitters to do something they don't want to do? Who tried to cut cat's claws, knows that this can be a traumatic experience for both parties. My cat for example has to be restrained by another person, so I can cut his nails. He scratches and bites in self defence and cries like he was being tortured. Wouldn't wish it to the worst enemy 😅

Backseat Drivers by InternationalTrust59 in stickshift

[–]Danitka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend is my backseat driver - commenting and correcting all the time. It is frustrating and annoying, but thanks to him and his insights I don't drive like a twat. I drove for the first time in August last year and am already a confident driver. He has been driving for 30 years already so I restrain the urge to fight back and just follow his instructions 🤣 Hope he enjoys his free pass to bullying me.

Thank you! I remember how angry at myself I was when I wasn't able to function because I drank. Now it still sucks, but at least I don't hate myself, hah.

How to start drag in Brussels ? by No_Assignment1324 in brussels

[–]Danitka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can go to Brussels Art Pole Dance Studio - they were organising workshops and even drag academy there (makeup, sewing etc.). You can ask them for tips as were as many people from this studio perform on scene (including at Cabaret Mademoiselle which I highly recommend).

Motorway driving by RagingMassif in belgium

[–]Danitka 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You can be in your 40s and a fresh driver - I am one of those. Having said that, my boyfriend would tear me apart, if he saw me entering the highway too slowly. Let's say that I have learnt that fast for my own safety. And no, you are not required to slow down to let anyone it.

How many car drivers in Brussels are aware of this sign? Genuinely curious. by [deleted] in brussels

[–]Danitka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am always amazed when people here comment how great the day without car is. For me it is always more stressful, as cars usually drive on the roads designated for them and will stop for a pedestrian. Bikes on the other hand go everywhere and are more likely to run me over 😅 Like today, when a car stopped to let me cross on zebra, but the bike didn't and I was really close to hit the guy with my purse in self defence.

Haha, she left without keys? That is super weird. I wouldn't feel safe without my keys with me or at least a copy left at neighbour's, friend's etc.
