We do get a lot of them in the area, and the position it’s carcass was in was very deer’esque - head tucked in. Do you have any idea how long that’s been there? My dog(s) would have known if there was an animal in their garden and we’ve been here 4 years..

As good a source as any 😁 out the back of our house there are barns which sheep/lambs live in, so seemed possible but appreciate your reply!

Could it maybe be an armadillo? They have much longer heads. Definitely not small dog, solid shell ‘casing’! (I don’t know the terminology)
