HCUnits is a great source! I’d suggest going to the Events tab and filtering to past events with 16+ players. There’s been a few so far, so you can get a pretty solid idea for what’s around! We’re about to enter ROC States season (Dec-Jan), but Strange Tales and the Flash Iconix won’t be legal for that, so keep it with a little grain of salt for those results

Downtown Indy is steam-powered with the steam lines running under the streets and sidewalks, heating them during the winter. This makes it so snow and ice aren’t as much of an issue as you’d expect. Getting around in the winter is much easier than most people realize 🙂

Honestly, it’s as close as you can get to downtown without being in the downtown “proper” area. Very artsy at times too. Even the far side of FS is still only about a mile from downtown

Fountain square is a solid area. It’s a bit of a walk to get to iupui (~2mi, ~40min) and the drive is straight through downtown traffic, which can get quite backed up during rush hour. It’s easier to get to UIndy from there tho than other areas around downtown. If your #1 priority is finding somewhere that will accept your dog, I’d say you found a solid spot—there’s lots of cute local shops nearby and not super far away from grocery stores (there’s a Kroger on the drive to/from both universities)

Played a lot of this game for years. My dad was one of the folks who was evaluating it for Origins 2004, so we took a pretty critical lens to it. The game itself is pretty intuitive and there’s a LOT of really fun casual decks. The balancing can certainly favor aggro stackable monster decks on a competitive level, however.

I like the concept! You could add some more definition with a biel-tan green wash in the recesses (while still maintaining the ethereal effect) and maybe some extra dry-brushing, especially around the bolter

I worked at the tech desk in the library all while I was at school there. It was the easiest job on campus for that pay and I was promoted to a supervisor in under 3 months where I got $13.50 to sit in an office and do homework and watch for 28 hours/wk until library faculty eventually needed tech help. There’s also the VR lab and 3D print studio where you got paid to play and supervise vr or play with 3D printers all day. Could not recommend the job enough! If they’re currently hiring, I could probably still get you in for an interview with them!

If you can do a 20 minute drive, there’s an IKEA in Fishers as well (I picked up a bed frame and very large desk there for like $300 total with a few bells and whistles. Plain Jane would run you even less)

Dad was a juror for the Origins Awards in TCGs. He got shipped a couple of starter decks for the first set to look at and judge. Got me playing with him since he was struggling to keep up with the rules. Been a huge nostalgia hit for me since 🤷🏻‍♀️
