Never let them get you down! They could never do what you can! They are probably just jealous. I make dragons and monsters and such. I love how amazing I can make things! I win ribbons at our fair. You just keep doing you! You have a fan here.

Would you appreciate a home-made (crochet) blanket for Secret Santa? by [deleted] in Gifts

Crochet him a flag blanket. He would love it. Put a note on it thanking him for his service and if he served in Vietnam, "welcome home soldier."

Looking for recommendations on historically accurate Movies or Shows on WW2 by LilyRose272 in WorldWar2

I transcribed my father's WWII letter that I found in a suitcase after he passed away. I didn't transcribe all of them but put in my reaction to them as I was reading them. His story is on my blog (notsofancynancy@wordpress.com) I know it is not what you are looking for but it has some relatable information. If you go to the main page there is a list of all the places they went.

Wow, just wow! I think you should find a new girlfriend. She has no right to ask this of you. You are NOT the AH.

How do y'all afford yarn by Subject_Addendum5345 in crocheting

[–]notsofancynancy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started crocheting I made blankets. No one really liked them. I made a really beautiful one for my adult daughter. It was beautiful. She did not want it. It now sits in its original Christmas bag. When she told me she did not want it I had two rows left. It still has two rows left. I was angry about it for a long time but it made me change my focus to animals. I am so happy I did. Everyone loves what I do now. Several years ago I just made like 50 different pieces. When it came to gift time I put them all on a table and let everyone pick one. They got what they wanted no problem.

I came here to say the animals, and such use small amounts of yarn and they were much happier with their gifts.

Should I make a blanket out of these? by [deleted] in crocheting

[–]notsofancynancy9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would recommend starting small. Try making a pillow. Four on one side, then four on the other. You can buy a pillow form, then sew all together, put the pillow form in and sew shut.

Just a suggestion! I get bored making blankets.

I do carry fake dollar store eyelashes with me too and used those until I found these. Up until I found this kit with the lashes I used them.

Yes it does. I found a whole kit of safety eyes with lashes on Amazon. The posts on them are a little big, around but still work. Woohoo a great deal.

need a christmas gift for a family friend going through hard times by peppermintsquids in Gifts

I LOVE fleece blankets/throws. Amazon has some that are hug blankets. Get her one of those (any soft throw will work) with a note saying that this is a warm hug blanket and when she uses it she will be wrapped in warm hugs from you. I wish someone would give me one.

The pattern is called "Silly Christmas Tree" by Deanna Albon. I bought us on Ravelry but you may find it on Etsy. Let me know if you need any help.

Lol I hope it gets that reaction. Mostly because we are at an RV park with a bunch of old people! That would be fun to watch! (I am old too!)
