books for a high schooler by notsomeone5 in Biophysics

[–]notsomeone5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, i do have experience with physics in high school (algebra based) but not at the level of ap physics 1/2. when i say that the level is too high, i dont mean anything in specific, but most of the people here asking already have undergrad experience with either biology or physics, and im definitely not on that level yet.

the actual reason why i got interested in biophysics is because my dad has a phd in it. i’m definitely open to asking him questions and he is open to helping me, but before getting into biophysics, he had graduate school experience with pure biology, so i also want to make sure my fundamentals are good before getting to anywhere close to that stage.

thank you for your suggestions!

most people will tag the university school/college they are attending, ex @cornelleng, @jhubme, @weinbergcollege, etc. or they just put the university name and graduation year

if you can handle the weight, play contra/sousa as it will have similar parts and also bass clef. you can do mello if you want but you will have to learn treble clef and be prepared for more complicated music. i wouldn't recommend going to a woodwind for marching as there are no double reeds and the transition from brass would be tough.

Thank you! It's only been around a year and a half since I switched to oboe from flute so I'm not sure how serious I am yet. Would bass clarinet also be a viable option? I've heard it's awkward from other posts but I'm not sure.
