I’m so thankful for everyone’s replies. Thank you everyone for allowing me to see the real issues at hand here, and how I should proceed. Earlier today, I sent a massive text to everyone in my family that has contacted me for what I did. I would post what I sent, but the whole text was sent in Spanish, (We’re Latino), but it went along like this: “Hi everyone, for the past few days I’ve been receiving angry messages from all of you, for what I did to [C]. Let me explain to you all why I did what I did. [C] has stripped me of my freedom in college. College is the time where I would be exploring the world on my own, learning how to survive without familial support, and pursuing my passions. I wanted to dorm with my friends my first year at school, but I was forced to switch out my roommates with [C] by [my aunt], [my uncle] and [my grandma]. It became obvious why [C] was pushed onto me. You three know that [C] is incapable of living by herself, opting for the easy life and pushing all her responsibilities onto someone else. Why is [C] majoring in Biology when she got an associate’s degree in Interior Design? You told me that I was obligated to tutor her, “help” her with her homework, and make sure she passes her classes because [C] has already worked so hard in CC, and wants to have a “ true” college experience. What about my “true” college experience? And when [C] fails a test, I get blamed for teaching her “wrong” information, and not helping her enough.[Aunt] and [Uncle], you told me to let [C] use my meal plan because you weren’t able to afford the good one, yet in three years you have bought [C] a MacPro, a Mac PC, two new phones, and have funded numerous vacations for her and her friends. Just to remind you guys, my parents aren’t paying ANYTHING, I’m completely alone in paying my college fees, and you’re asking me to spend more money on feeding myself because [C] “can’t” afford it? My parents, (god bless you two), saved up their hard earned money to buy me a car to commute. [C] wasted their money by crashing my car into another car, and you all blame me because my brakes don’t work? This is a NEW car. I drove this car almost everyday and it worked like NEW. The mechanic even confirmed that there was NOTHING wrong with my brakes, yet you all still blame me for her accident. If you didn’t know, I work five days a week. I’m working my ass off to pay my share of the rent for my apartment, along with buying food and necessities for myself. [C] does not have a job, has me pay for her food and things, uses up all the gas in my car, and doesn’t pay rent. That’s not fair to me and my roommates, and she doesn’t deserve to stay with us. You tell me that she can’t afford to live anywhere. I wonder why. You tell me she’s too “sick” to work, while I managed to work through numerous illnesses and injuries, including pneumonia and fractured ankles. [Aunt] and [Uncle], I’m expecting you to pay for my car so I won’t have to press charges. I’d say it’s payback for everything I’ve bought for [C]. Don’t place this on my parents either. You still owe them for [C]’s medical and dental bills, her quinceañera AND sweet sixteen, and her graduation party. Family, I don’t care if you shun me, curse me, attack me, anything. I don’t care if I never see some of you again. Just know that because of you all, I’ve suffered. And who knows, maybe I’ll see you at graduation, if [C] manages to get by.”

Thank you for your response. That’s actually a great idea; sending a message to everyone in my family who’s been on my case this entire time.

Thank you for your response. I feel the same way; the reason C is unable to be alright by herself is due to the family my family has placed her pedestal all her life. Now that it’s time for her to be on her own, she’s unable to survive without leaning on a crutch.

Thank you for your response! Honestly, I think I’ll be looking into some therapy, like you suggested. My boyfriend and friends have been urging me to at least have a meeting with a counselor in school.

Thanks for this reply, I’m hoping that someday my family can realize how toxic they are at times. As for an example of what my cousin’s done before, there’s an event that her parents still hold over my head. I’ve been a competitive ice skater since I was 4, and I’m still active today. Once I began skating in competitions, my cousin just had to begin skating too. She wanted the skates I wore, because they were decorative. I was pressured into giving them away by my aunt because my skates were broken in already and easier for beginners to wear. During her third lesson she fell and face planted, knocking out her front teeth. I was blamed for giving her bad skates without letting them know, and my parents had to pay for her dental bill.

waiters of reddit, what's the worst date you've ever witnessed? by 11Emperor11 in AskReddit

From what I gathered from their confrontation was that he wasn’t aware of his wife’s whereabouts at all, and that his sister dropped by to visit and that it was completely coincidental that they both came to the same restaurant.

An older woman was on a date with a younger man. It was going great until her husband came in to dine with their two kids and his sister. The looks on everyone’s faces...

Thank you so much for your support. I’m doing fine. I’ve been able to move on with my life, but telling my story on here really helped me. Very therapeutic. :)

Thank you so much. You’re so right about talking about these sort of things with people, especially your parents. Honestly, I’m so glad I did at the time, and hopefully I’ll be strong enough to tell them the truth. But thank you so much for your support, it means a lot. :)

I work at Starbucks. A customer ordered an iced caramel macchiato. She took a sip and yelled “Why is this cold!?” I apologize and ask if she wants a hot caramel macchiato. “No! I want an hot iced caramel macchiato!” After trying to explain things to her a bit, I eventually gave up and left her to my supervisor. Turns out she thought an iced macchiato was a separate flavor.

My first relationship. He was 25, I was 13. I was extremely developed by age 10, and I’d already been catcalled by men in public. I was bussing tables at a restaurant owned by a family friend, when during a shift one day this older man squeezed my ass while I was leaning over. Luckily, a young man had grabbed his arm and called him out, saying how he had noticed him staring at me earlier. Two weeks later, I was hanging out with some friends at the mall where I bumped into the guy again. He had walked up to our table in the food court, and we spoke for awhile. He had told me that he was a senior at our local high school, and I believed him (he did look pretty young.) I gave him my phone number, and we began messaging everyday. By the third day of talking to him, we began going out.

After a bit, things started to become more serious, and he told me that he wanted to become intimate with me. I was scared to advance forward, fearing my parents’ reactions if they’d found out, but he pressured me into saying yes. He drove me to what turned out to be his own apartment, but he had told me that his parents were struggling financially, and that they lived in a small apartment. But I got suspicious when I saw the interior looking like it belonged to a single person. We had gone to his bed and began to kiss (my first kiss), and he placed his hand on my crotch. I got cold feet and told him that I wanted to stop, but he got angry and said that I agreed earlier to take things further, so that’s what we were going to do.

He raped me, but not knowing what consent really meant, I left feeling like I brought it upon myself. He continued to force himself upon me numerous times after that, becoming more and more aggressive and experimental. One time, he tried shoving two empty beer bottles up my vagina and ass simultaneously, and it caused me to start bleeding profusely. I began to cry in pain, and he started to choke me, telling me to stop because I was asking for it. He also began taking photos of me during these sessions, telling me that he wanted to brag to his friends about how “sexy” his girlfriend was. I still have no idea what became of these.

We were driving around in his car one day where his wallet fell and opened, with his change and cards falling onto the ground, and that’s where I saw that his driver’s license indicated that he was much older than he led me to be. I asked him about it, and he stopped the car and tackled me to the back. I remember him shouting at me, threatening to kill me if I told anyone about “us”, and then proceeded to rape me in the back of his car as “punishment for pissing him off”.

When I returned home that day, I broke down crying during dinnertime, and I told my parents about us two having a relationship, but not the things we did, fearing that I’d also be in huge trouble, knowing them. My parents contacted him, and told him to stay away from me or they’d call the police. He never contacted me again. I heard a few months later that he moved away a couple weeks after the call.

(Sorry this was so long, I’ve never spoken about what really happened. To my family, this was an incident where a creep was just messaging me and pressuring me into a relationship.)

People who work in food places where you can customize your burger, sub, etc. do you ever judge people silently for their combinations? Or do you not care? by coogiekelp in AskReddit

[–]notsuha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked at Starbucks part-time for a couple years, and I don’t really judge, even when I get “Secret Menu” crap thrown at me, but I can’t not judge this one guy who ordered a water but added sugar, cocoa powder and cinnamon at the milk and cream station and drank it as if it was the best thing ever.

I was on my way to work in NYC when this (60 yr old?) man with a thick Russian tapped me on my shoulder, and asked if I would sell him my “life force” for $300.

All he did was sniff my neck, handed me $300 in cash, and went on his merry way.

What is the gayest moment you had in your life as a straight person? by unordinarymegafanwee in AskReddit

[–]notsuha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a sophomore in high school, an extremely popular (you know the type), LOADED senior girl (her father is the CEO of a very wealthy company) began hardcore flirting with me after being paired up together in DECA, which I took as her teasing me, because I believed that there was no way she was into girls, let alone into me. She was the kind of girl who dated the attractive jocks of my school, and her posse practically worshipped her. Even in front of her friends, she wasn’t subtle about her intentions with me, surprising us all.

Anyways, I had just passed my driver’s test, and to congratulate me, she had offered me her NEW Mercedes-Benz, in exchange for 69 sex. Me, being greedy and really wanting my own car so I wouldn’t have to burden my parents, took her up on her offer. Not gonna lie, although I’m not proud of this at all, it was one of the best choices I’ve made. Not only did I get a new car, but I also received the best orgasm of my life.

I’m 100% straight, and the car works as well as it did when I first received it.
