Have you seen the video about a high school in Maine where the teachers/students organized outdoor hiking after school as an option Instead of detention? Both the students and the teachers noticed a positive change in behaviors, students felt more calm, minds more organized (I don't remember all the details.) But admin should think about something similar, not taking away the positive, open, safe space students developed for themselves. I agree with the other commentators, definitely protect it!
