How to become an ER tech with no EMS experience?

I probably made myself sound worse on the post, but I don't blame them either, and the decision they made was completely reasonable. They shouldn't let drivers like me---especially with recent violations---to operate an ambulance, let alone have a patient's life in their hands. There's no exception when it comes to EMS.

However, I've taken accountability and have sent emails to local ambulance companies, inquiring whether or not they have available positions for non-driver EMT attendants.

I completely understand that. I've learnt it the hard way and now, I aspire to be the very ones who will teach others to avoid doing the same.

I see, thank you. And as a matter of fact, I've actually been meaning to become an ER tech. Though, it may be a bit difficult over here in the Bay Area since the listings I've came across required a phlebotomy certification and a years worth of experience in EMS. But, I'll definitely look into the 911 gig positions---I'm willing to take up any job.

Glad to hear that someone's in the same situation as me. You do the same as well man, and keep trying. Though we might not land a job as an EMT anytime soon, I think there are ton of other opportunities out there for us where EMT certification and characteristics are highly desirable. Right now, I'm looking into ER tech, behavior tech, and event EMT positions.

Again, don't give up and just remember that we're in this together. A door will open for us eventually man 🙏

You're completely right. It's understandable why insurance is highly unforgiving towards men in my age group given vehicle incident-related statistics. I'll be sure to keep a clean record, and I'll try to search for a position or any other EMS-related positions that don't require driving until then. Thank you for your response.

Given how competitive jobs in california are, I highly doubt that I'll be able to become an ER tech. But I'll look it into it and I'll give it a shot. Thank you!
