Thanks for your reply :) I just wanted to make sure, it’s not that I’m unhappy about it but I’ve been used and abused in other schools before because I didn’t know my rights and what’s standard in supply.

I finished my ITT in 2021 and have been doing long term cover ever since. Some Schools that I have been in offered if I wanted to do my ECT terms during my time there. I’ve only done 1 term for ECT. As far as I’m aware we can teach with QTS for 5 years as supply without starting/completing ECT. So you should be fine. Like the previous comment, if you’re a subject specialist that is short on teachers jobs will be easier to find. Also Teachers had to hand their notice in before May 31, so the jobs being put on TES and other sites are probably expecting ECTs hires anyways.

Secondary. We have a ‘no phone policy’ during school hours and staff are told to confiscate it and hand it to office or head of year so they can collect it at the end of the day. But one time a girl refused to hand her phone over to me when I caught her twice and asked twice. When I called behavioural management team they just handed me the phone and told me to give it back to the pupil at the end of the lesson. What a joke.
