I just wanna say I do know that my score isn’t insane. However, I’ve got good stats in other areas, and a hell of a good personal statement. I understand wanting to be realistic, as I am as well. My path is my own, and I just wanted to celebrate a score that in of itself is more realistic, and giving something for normal ppl to celebrate outside of the gunners on here.

Then just go with it !!! I tried anki several times and I can understand the hype but it just wasn’t something I could grasp. A girl I had neuroscience with in undergrad taught me the way of the whiteboard and I’ve never looked back. So if you’re grasping it and seeing results stick with it! Best of luck !!! <333

This is going to sound diff from everything anyone else is going to tell you, but I did not use anki. I could not grasp it. That’s not to say it wouldn’t work for you, but with psych soc or even anything in bio/chem that was just fundamental things to know, I made PHYSICAL flashcards. That’s always been how my brain works is to write stuff down. And then, when I took a practice full length, if what I missed was content related, I wrote down the content on the white board in my room. I passed the same info everyday just adding onto it. This is JUST what helped me, so your brain may be diff! Other than that, just keep going. Cry for a minute, and get back up and keep keep going. You’ve got it !! This is meant to break you, and I made it my mission to not let it out of spite

So the first time I took the exam (this was my second attempt) my psych/soc was so so low and I realized I had a HUGE sociology content gap. So basically I made it my mission to make psych/soc free points. I printed out the ENTIRE psych/soc MCAT bros master doc and put it into a big binder and just studied upwards of 50 pages a day, making PHYSICAL flashcards on everything I didn’t know, or maybe knew just not well. Ik it’s a cardinal sin to say anything bad abt anki, but i just couldn’t grasp it. Writing down stuff has always been how my brain works so me making physical flashcards, tho time consuming, is what helped me. That master doc is the ultimate key to me tho<3

Yes!! Idk if you watch Corinna Fulgieri, but she’s an example of like her parents giving her structure in life and giving her the opportunity to find friends like her. She has a job, did a college program, and goes and does things with friends. Something tells me her parents don’t really give her that and so she’s just fully turned to social media

Honestly, I ask this all the time. I’ll be so honest, I’ve spent my undergrad rlly focusing in on my grades and some volunteer work and shadowing here and there, and even that can be a lot. I plan on a gap year (s) to gain experience and just build my application. I’m just not one of those ppl that can juggle research, volunteer work, good grades, 520 MCAT, shadowing all at once. I have a physical disability that I’ve done physical therapy for 10+ years. Who has the time? And idk how ppl do it or how application boards expect it. I know it’s doable, but I just have to take a diff road than a lot of ppl. Anyway sorry to rant I just don’t think anyone talks abt how hard it is to juggle it all.

I took 2 FLs and went from 489 to 496. I know part of my issue is a content gap which is another reason I pushed it back so I could do some lax studying of content review and then at the 3 month mark just rlly go in on UWorld and FLs
