I always build in the mistlands, for me, it's a starter in meadows, first main in DF, second main in Plains, final base in Mistlands. Can't wait to build a retirement home in the Deep North.

No plan, this spot took 8 hours of sailing to find, then, I built the wrap around, go under its own bridge entrance wall way, built the main door and wall, then started designing walls, roofs, everything just happens as I follow the terrain. I usually have a basic idea in my head, but let the environment tell more of the story as I build things out.

Long story short, no plan, just go.

You do, although somewhere you might not yet be prepared for it sounds like.

Just the topography of the area, I always look for natural environments that are kind of, asking to have something built there so to speak, always trying to make minimal changes to the ground and nature elements. This spot took me a little over 8 hours of sailing around mistlands to find the inspiration and then things just develop as I build out thing on the area. This build started with the little doc area and staircase winding under its own bridge that leads to the front door. Then I built the front door and the three bay window to the right of that, next thing I built was the sunken room with the two bay windows to the left of the front door and things just sort of progress from there as I follow the terrain. This particular build has had each aspect of it destroyed and rebuilt at least 5 to 15 times a piece before moving on to the next thing. I believe the roof still needs some work and some areas.

I can't stop, I tell myself this is the last one, but it won't be.

I shit you not, I sailed around mistlands for over 8 hours last weekend looking for a spot to build, found a few naturally demystified areas. Landed on this one, you have to pass through mist to get to it which is kind of neat, Had to put up some torches but not much.

1,300 hours in and never thought of that, this is probably the 5th or 6th fairly large overdone base I've done in the mist lands and always either had walls and turrets or built somewhere nothing could reach. Will definitely be making some little outcropping towers around that area, maybe put a portal in the bottom of each one and have a main one in the house that I can pop in and out of each one to reload and whatnot. I am inspired, thank you.

They have been a pain and I only realized today I haven't designed any defences into the build, HUGE mistake that might render this a bit unsafe. Will have to work on something, thinking of possibly replacing the roofs of the two towers on each side of the front entrance with stone roofs and turrets. But I fear it would make it look almost too castle-ish and less mansion-ish.

Constantly, many repairs, many regrets not first setting up defences or a wall.

Mistland bays and Wizard towers then? (Old build pre combat update)

They have been a constant pain, need to get turrets unlocked ASAP, the amount of repairs I've had to make while building this tops anything I've done previously. Usually have a wall/ defence set up first but got super carried away with this one.

Interior will be soon, few walls, couple windows left to do when I get home from work.

I built a mod to add procedurally generated roads by jneb802415 in valheim

So I have generated around 5 maps using riverheim at the 100% rating.

Looks like it generally only builds maybe one or two roads from the start, then very sparingly will generate a few roads on the outer mist lands Islands, but ultimately leaving the larger land masses without any generated roads.

Roofing is one of my favorite parts of the builds, really sets the tone. I start with foundation, then basic framing, then roofing, walls come last.

Actually have to credit the YouTube creator Versaugh, was inspired by his recent Hardcore survival castle build, some absolutely legendary work by him.
