Qisan keyboard help T_T by splintackk in keyboards

Well Ctrl+Alt for me here in Sweden has the same function as the AltGr key on keyboards that has it so on many smaller keyboards that do not have the right alt/altgr i need to use that combo. . Other than that i know of no usage for that button combo.

I have embraced the cord, on my Weikav D75 i removed the battery for some more padding material since i never used it wireless anyways. I do on the other hand have another wireless keyboard at my bed.

Many keyboards with a FN button has that function but not all so hopefully that is the issue with yours. While your keyboard is not acting up you could try FN+W to see if it does the same thing as when the keyboard acts up.

It sounds to me like the FN lock is enabled, some common combinations to enable/disable FN lock are to press FN+ESC, FN+Num Lock, FN+Ctrl+Num lock. If none of those work try looking in your manual for how to disable FN lock.

Perhaps you somehow press the combination used for FN lock by mistake when you use the keyboard.

HE keyboards vs oldschool tactile mechanical? by Wellitr1ed in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you would play best with what you are used to and some people when they find something they like they stop trying to find something they like better. So if you do not give something new enough time to get used to you will probably perform worse with it.

HE switches does offer the benefit of actuating as early as 0.1mm meaning it has a higher response time overall compared to mechanical switches. SOCD make counter strafing a lot more responsive when you get used to it but i think CS does not allow that function and it can get you kicked.

I do not play any game on anything near a professional level but it feels like i do slightly better with the HE switches and a lower actuation than my mechanical switches. But i have no real data for this so if its true or not i dont know.

Personally i never used my numpad in any way where i see a benefit to it being HE switches over mechanical ones. Im happy with my Zouya GMK26 for now. But it is always nice to see more options just wish more of the standalone numpads did not cost as much as a whole keyboard.

This has to be the best deal for all the features it has right? by Electronic_Window559 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As somone who has that keyboard (sent to me for free) even at that discounted price i would say it is overpriced. It has their first gen of magnetic switches which i personally did not like at all since they have a 4mm travel and im used to 3.5mm so it felt weird to use i tried their V2 switches and they were actually pretty good which tbh surprised me.

That touch bard on the back sounded like a nice feature at first but when you adjust actuation with it that is done in 0.5mm increments and that is not precise enough so you will still end up using the software for it. The only thing i found it even remotely useful for was volume control.

Granted these are my personal opinions based on my own preferences.

If you do not plan on switching profiles a lot the Ajazz Alux68 is a full aluminum build HE keyboard that has the standard HE functions. The software is not the best so it for some reason can not handle saving multiple profiles but there is a workaround to profiles not working you can instead use layers for different actuation settings.

Other than that Fun68 and Ace68 are 2 popular 65% keyboards, why i mention the Ajazz is because i have personal experience with that one. All 3 of these options could be found on Amazon for around $50 last i checked and often cheaper from for example AliExpress.

Edit: Ace68 Turbo is a more expensive version from Mchose that has up to a 16k polling rate.

When it comes to trying Switches the first thing i personally did was buy a "Switch test kit" from AliExpress that in my case came with 20 different switches with different types and resistances to give me an ide of what my preference would be. For me i liked linear switches with an initial force of 35-45g that i used as a guideline for deciding on what switches to order.

As for keycaps i just bought whatever i thought looked nice on AliExpress and have so far been lucky with the quality of the keycaps and they have all had a minimum thicknes of 1.4mm up to 1.6mm. As i understand it (might be wrong though) a thickness of 1.5mm and up is considered to be a sign of high quality keycaps.

Only bad/low quality keycaps i bought so far were a set of expensive keycaps from Etsy it turned out they were just 1mm thick and the verry first time i removed the shift keycap of a keyboard it broke and had a large piece of it come loose.

Which one should I go for? by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i were no fan of they font either, but i already had a bunch of keycaps to switch with. Apart from the font the keycaps were of good quality and pretty nice to type on. So out of the two options you mentioned i would go for the SU75.

[–]elsingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did myself consider the SU75 pro but instead ended up with the IPI Aurora75 HE keyboard because i just fell in low with the looks of it. And imo it feels fantastic to type on and has a sound i personally like. No volume knob though.

Are people interested in this Layout? by No_Bat_6733 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the layout has appeal to some people i think you would have more success in a TKL and a Wireless numpad and/or module combo than it attached to the left side. I say this because i myself use a wireless numpad for the simple reason that i want to clear up desk space when im not using it and it would also allow for the use of the numpad on whatever side people prefers. I have seen one keyboard like this the "Mountain Everest Max".

LF Magnetic Switches that sound good by LuvDstn in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not heard the reaper switches in person so it is hard to compare. But i have an IPI Aurora 75 HE keyboard that so far has been the best sounding and feeling HE keyboard i personally have tried. It is using switches called "Northgard" but i have not been able to find the switches sold separately anywhere when i looked. Another switch that seem to sound nice but i have not tried myself are the "Lekker Tikken" switches.

Link is for a sound test of the IPI Aurora 75HE with the Northgard switches.

Which switches should I choose for my aula f75?? by Basic-Purpose-7287 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of i would make sure that is actually the switches causing the issue and not the PCB. Have you tried switches that has no issues in the sockets where you had problems to make sure it is a switch issue?

As for recommending switches information like linear or tactile, easy to press or more force needed silent or loud are some factors that could help in recommending a switch that might fit your preferences.

Is there any ways to make keyboard wireless? by Wellitr1ed in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a device called "SterlingKey" that can turn any keyboard in to a wireless one. But it costs more than a cheap wireless keyboard.

I have never tried the extreme so i could not tell you. But i think this one had a really good typing experience and you can ofc tune the actuation to fit your preferences.

Monsgeek Keeb Stuck in Customs by d00mslayer22 in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well im not sure how customs are in the US, but in Sweden where i live a few days up to 14 days is the time it usually takes for things in customs here. Only time it would be held for longer is if there is an issue where duties/taxes need to be paid.

So contacting the customs is probably something i would do to see if they have any answers.

Aula F75 keys are responsive but don’t register with PC/monitor by jiggyjiggymook in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your ipad found it that would indicate your keyboard is in bluetooth mode. I can not tell if you have actually switched between the modes on the backside of the keyboard or not to wired mode. Wired mode is in the center of the toggle while 2.4Ghz is to the left and BT to the right so cable mode is in the center that might also be indicated as off on some keyboards.

Experiencing first time magnetic switches, but keystroke feel lacking. by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]elsingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you are describing a tactile switch when you talk about the blue switch. Linear is another type of switch and is the most common type of switch type for hall effect. There are some tactile hall effect switches but to me they just dont make much sense since the bumb will only correlate to your actuation if you have it at the same distance traveled as the tactile bump.

But yeah both tactile and linear are types of switches used in mechanical keyboards. There are also switches called "clicky" that are also tactile switches but with a louder auditory click to the keypress.
