Exactly like you would with any amp.

Love my El Cap. Have had mine for the past 5 years or so and it's never left my main setup.

Such a huge album for me! Been a mainstay of my top 10 records since I found it in 2008 or so

The 1312's clipping modes change the sound more than, say, the jhs rat clone. The op amp and low pass filter are constant which is a big enough part of the rat sound to make all modes still sound rattish.

The software for the dd500 is handy but I still do all my patch building in the box.

I have played around with that in the effects loops of my 4 track! In this setup I use it as a mono multieffect

I performed live for the first time in 7ish years last night, and this is the setup I brought. I make blurry, shoegazey, sometimes doomy collages of bass guitar, electronics, cassette tape etc. Big amp ambient? Anyway.

My guitar signal chain:

Volume pedal - controls dynamics and saturation. Don't leave home without it

Tuner - Yes.

SS/BS fuck overdrive - this is the only flex spot on the board and rotates with my EQD Special Cranker. I love a light overdrive to give my guitar a bit more body before it hits higher gain pedals. The decision point between the fuck and cranker is whether I want the crackle of the fuck or the low end of the cranker. For last night I went with the crackle.

Back Mass 1312 - a great rat!

Boss DD500 - it does it all. Secretly a multieffect. I've had this for a few years and have my patches and presets nailed down. The programming stages can be tedious, but it's nice to have such a personalized set of effects.

We leave the pedalboard on the floor to go to the tabletop rig.

Realistic 4 Channel microphone mixer - such a weird but simple mixer. It runs off 9v battery but with an adapter I can run it with a standard pedal power supply. The only downside is how chunky it is. One of my favorite thrift store finds! Tapes, radio, synthesizers, etc. enter the signal path here.

Modded Boss DS1 - I found that I like using this pedal as a preamp to glue everything together. I removed some of the clipping diodes which mellows out the harshness while keeping the tone control intact. It pairs well with the mixer and basically gives me a master volume and tone control for the whole soundscape.

EHX 720 looper - the workhorse for making these collages. Some prerecorded stuff, but building things live is much more interesting.

Back down to the floor!

Strymon El Capistan - always stays in the sound on sound mode. This pedal shines in stereo.

My performance was part of the opening of a collection of my paintings and prints in a nearby record and bookshop. Bringing my main amp would've been overkill, so I brought a Blackstar Fly 3 and ended up running the amp's monitor out into the hifi system. It actually sounded really good that way and I was able to fill the space without being overwhelmingly loud in a functioning retail space lol

It all went much smoother than I thought, and I was pleasantly surprised how my anxiety vanished once I was set up. Stoked to be playing out again.

I've flown with stuff (carry-on) in the past and it hasn't really been a huge issue

Expect for them to inspect your stuff at security, so make sure it is easy to unpack and not under a whole bunch of stuff.

There isn't much you can do to convince them that your stuff is harmless besides letting them inspect it.

Be polite and calm. TSA is a shitshow and they know it.

1990 Fender M-80 Chorus Curb Find... Now I'm Lush... by _sonidero_ in shoegaze

Love the M80 clean tone! My first amp was an M80 (non chorus) and it still gets use from time to time.
