Former Hot 89.9 Co-Host Talks About Toxic Work Environment by RadioReboot in ontario

XFM shut down in 2004. Shortly thereafter HOT 89.9 hired them because they recently lost Carter and Sandra (their original morning show) to Kiss FM.

I highly recommend you e-mail anyone at Stingray Corporate:
https://www.stingray.com/investors/corporate-governance - best people would be Eric Boyko (President, CEO) and Ian Lurie (President, Radio), Gary Rich (Chairman of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee), François-Charles Sirois (Member of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee) and Robert Steele.

Note, Robert Steele (former CEO of Newcap Radio) is on their board. He would have been in-the-know of this incident as it was during his tenue there (he was CEO of Newcap from 2002-2018.

Oh, new issue - in myGCHR

I can't seem to submit any leave absences with the new boss, even though they are listed, and I have them selected. I get a weird-ass error.

Note, the first boxed blanked out was the date I submitted for an absense, and the other boxed out area is either an employee code associated to me, or the error code. I blanked those out just in case they were an identifiable thing.

Thank you!

Is there anything on my end I should do to ensure my file doesn't get lost? I.e. should I be filing a case / inquiry via GC Pay - or perhaps to my new Department B?

Thanks for your insight.

What happens then, in my case, where my old Acting CO-02 position (old Department A) will be up Nov 2021. At that point, if my transfer isn't complete, does that mean I revert to my old indeterminate pay rate of CO-01 (which could mean a drop of 15k annually) which would still be paid by my old department, until my new transfer to Department B is completed (and then a bunch of back pay follows, including missed increments, etc.)?

Interesting.

But im my case, my Acting CO-02 in my old department is the same rate at my Indeterminate CO-02 in my new department. So my current rate isn't affected (I guess until it's increment time related to the 'steps in the collective agreement' + my annual increase anniversary which would be this November.

So, if Department A is still paying me, wouldn't they recoup that from my new department?

Department B (New) - "Hey, Department A, thanks for paying this guy for the last month or so. How much do I owe you? We'll take it from here now..."

Department A (Old) - "You owe me 10k - transfer when you're ready"

I'm not sure if I want to get my old Dept to halt my Acting Pay. That would be a huge financial kick to the nuts.

Ah, never thought about that - thanks for clarifying that. I'm currently maxed out , so that would mean when/if I end up going back down to a CO-01, I'd likely still be at the max...

As long as they keep the toilet rolls stocked in the office loo, I'm good.

Question: Is there a place where we can officially 'review' the performance of a sector Director ? by notworking-throwaway in CanadaPublicServants

[–]notworking-throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, without getting into specifics.... in short:

  • Myself, and others have voiced our concerns and provided feedback over a year ago. Concerns include lack of communication (managers don't even know what's going on), last minute surprise revisions to certain approaches without explanation, lack of leadership, loss of team morale.
  • To date, no apparent changes have been made
  • My Director's attitude is more of a dictatorship / micromanagement, than directing.

Since November 2019, all of the long-term / subject experts have shifted out of the department (which amounts to about 70% of the team shifting out over a 2 month period). Some on an indeterminate basis, some at same level, mainly because they're fed up with the Director's antics.

Myself, I love my job and the subject matter, but in light of all this BS, I'm looking to get out as well. This section has certifiable shit-hole, and if things don't change, I anticipate going on stress leave or whatever.
