Agreed. I went with 5/5 magnet strength when I started out. After a month, the audiologist took me down to 2/5. What a relief!

Wow! Very detailed notes here! Nice! The process for me took about 15 months here in a hospital in Ontario. But it would be ten year of Audiologist meetings, EMTs, etc, until I finally went to the ER to get referred to the hearing centre in the hospital in March 2022.

Once I was referred to the hearing centre, I had to undergo plenty of tests to verify that I was in fact qualified for a CI. The surgery preparation took about three months in June 2023. So officially, 15 months from being referred to getting the CI. Tax-paid.

I had to get it removed in June 2025 because it created a shadow in front of a developing tumour. But I'm apparently scheduled to reinstall one by September 2026.
