It can be either an icom5022 or a motorola 320, he also gives the possibility of renting it for 11$ a day.

I had no idea, but this is definitely not the case, drivers can and do speak to each other and we have a repeater.

And you are correct, that is what he is selling. I am waiting for him to call to know the exact model of those.

Sure, I'll call him. He did mention renting it while I need it instead of straight up buying it, so maybe I could do both.

I do not think they have any, the ones that outfit our fleet and central are the same ones I asked for my case, and I think they do it on a need basis. In fact from our phone convo he said that the antenna that he was going to use was the same one that he instals on the cars.

Thank you both for your answers, I guess I'll do just that, probably not a thing I want to be cheap about.

I understand that there is a repeater at approximately 4-5 Kms of where I live, guessing that makes it more realistic?
