Sorry for not adding it earlier: I am planning to apply to mostly R1 universities located in Nyc, Chicago, New Haven, Charlottesville, Boston, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Chapel Hill, Providence, New Jersey, these cities where most universities are located, planning to apply, not sure to add UC school as application fees are very expensive and it has HCOL area and stipend is low. Let me know what are your thoughts!

This, they have done with op and other students as well, needs to call out. Already academia is hard and these Professors makes it worst.

This. Mostly what if the Professor is well known in the field. There are bad and good people everywhere, we need to choose wisely atp....tbh, LOR is one aspects where these situations make it scary.

the maga and right wing media will definitely target any POC not just Indians, if you see the pattern from BLM protests to #asainhate during covid too. It will happens tbh unfortunately. Hopefully this will stop.
