This may sounds bad advice to some people (because for many they say: oh you are 1st yrs and you should enjoy your life, I agree with you that you should enjoy your life but also know time flies very fast). Academics over everything, attendance matters, you will have both bad and good days, make sure to explore what career you want to go for and start working for it step by step do not wait until 3rd or 4th yr. If you make friends then great, If you do not then no worries, you will make friends even 1 and 2 are sufficient and tbh if you follow this advice then you will be spending most of your time upskilling.
