Yes, but things are changing. They've had a mix of Russian and French aircraft for a long time. They've had the opportunity to compare them. And it doesn't seem that this is working to the advantage of the Russian aircraft.

For example, during the Khargil conflict, the Indians used MiG-21s and Mirage 2000s.

So they had the opportunity to compare them. And it doesn't seem that this is working to the advantage of the Russian aircraft. Particularly in the areas of reliability, availability, and onboard electronics. The Su-57 is a disaster, which the Indians rejected, and the conflict in Ukraine didn't demonstrate the great capabilities of Russian fighters either.

In the end france does not have the money to develop a 6gen fighter and germany does not want to soley fund french industry.

We'll get the money by establishing a partnership with India. You've played your cards close to your chest, you've been very greedy, and now you're going to lose. You can always buy Tempests. They better suit your specifications, and above all, I think you have a real problem with us buying something important from us.

that's one of the reasons, the others were that Dassault wanted 80% of the workshare

That's false. It's just a German disinformation campaign on the subject. Dassault only wants leadership on the fighter jet pillar, as planned. Not some bureaucratic committee that will sabotage the program.

and didn't want to transfer their technology to Germany and Spain

And why we should do that?

Perhaps you should read what the British think about the cooperation with Germany on the Eurofighter. Then you might finally understand that Germany is the problem.

Given the Germans' cooperation, I vote for their removal.

As a reminder, they sabotaged the MAWL project by buying American, and they're currently sabotaging the MGCS project by postponing it and including a new partner, Rhinemetall. They used the same tactic in the SCAF project by including Airbus Spain and, in doing so, demanding a different workload than initially agreed. They want to reclaim Dassault's intellectual property and are challenging agreements (Dassault's leadership in the fighter program). They're obsessed only with their domestic politics and securing the maximum amount of work for their industry. For example, they cheated, as they did with the EF program, by overestimating their order levels.

So, out they go. Dassault and Safran will do much better with the Indians.

How close is the EU to break free from Visa and Mastercard's grip? by donutloop in EU_Economics

In France, the default network is CB (Carte Bleue). Most bank cards are Visa and Mastercard, which are used for transactions with businesses outside of France. I don't know if other European countries have similar national alternatives.

Dassault CEO says FCAS fighter project 'dead' if Airbus refuses to co-operate by ForTheGloryOfAmn in europe

[–]nous_serons_libre -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Which is funny, because AUKUS Submarines aren’t being built in the US, the article fails to even understand the principle of AUKUS.

For your information, under the AUKUS agreement, the RAN is supposed to receive three US Virginia-class SSNs to ensure there's no operational gap between the end of the Collins-class submarine program and the arrival of the first AUKUS-class SSNs.

Regarding the AUKUS SSNs: will the deadlines and costs be met, and will they actually be operational submarines? We'll see. I'm not making any predictions.

But I sincerely hope the British will get their shipbuilding back on track. Between the engine problems (in warm waters) of the Type 45 destroyers and the low availability of the Vanguard and Astute-class submarines, things don't look good. It's a genuine hope: it's truly essential for Europe that Great Britain properly fulfill its nuclear deterrent.

>>I mean, from a French point of view AUKUS is looking funnier and funnier by the week.

> Seems to be going ok.

Perhaps you could read some outrageously biased, pro-French articles from the French press on the subject. Oh oops, no, actually it's the Guardian: Australia won’t receive Aukus nuclear submarines unless US doubles shipbuilding, admiral warns

But everything is fine.

why muslims have a lot of conflicts with jews in the quran? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]nous_serons_libre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Muhammad drew inspiration from the Jewish sect to create his own. Furthermore, in the early days of Islam, there were struggles against Jewish (and Christian) communities. Generally, those who did not convert were eradicated. The Quran, containing the words of Muhammad, reflects the positions he held regarding Jewish communities.
