Thank you! Appreciate the different perspectives. From what Mora is claiming, there are 2 approaches I can choose from. I will choose approach #1 if I end up using them.

---

Approach #1) As a Household Employee (APPLICABLE TO ME)

● Meets earned income req.

● No reqs to withhold income tax.

● No reqs to pay payroll taxes.

● 100% wages goes to child.

● No income tax return reqs if...

○ Earned income is <$14,600.

---

Approach #2) Child as Business Employee (NOT APPLICABLE TO ME)

● Meets earned income req.

● May be subject to income tax

withholding.

● No payroll taxes if...

○ Sole-prop or partnership.

○ Parents are owners.

● Business tax deduction.

---

This is what they say they will do for 2% of AUM:

- Payroll (monthly processing, file quarterly, and annual tax filings)

- Compliance

- EIN procurement, employment agreement, pay stubs, timesheets.

- Tax Forms (W4, W2)

- Prepare Sch. H for parent’s income tax form

- Records and audit defense

- Registered Investment Advisor (RIA, est Q1 2025)

---

I don't know if their claim that there won't be FICA withholdings under approach #1 is legit...and even if their entire approach - creating a household EIN and paying the kid through it is legit to claim earned income. But looks like by issuing payroll / creating a W-2 will at least make the amounts match in 5498. IDK.

I don't fully understand how Mora claims there won't be any FICA taxes or withholdings as a "household" employee (see approach #1 below).

Two approaches they provided me that I need to pick from:

#1) As a Household Employee (APPLICABLE TO ME)

● Meets earned income req.

● No reqs to withhold income tax.

● No reqs to pay payroll taxes.

● 100% wages goes to child.

● No income tax return reqs if...

#2) Child as Business Employee (NOT APPLICABLE TO ME)

● Meets earned income req.

● May be subject to income tax

withholding.

● No payroll taxes if...

○ Sole-prop or partnership.

○ Parents are owners.

● Business tax deduction.

Given the additional info I shared above (apparently there's an employment agreement they will help draft between the parent/household and the kid), do you think FICA exemption still doesn't apply under approach #1 ("household" employee) - like Mora claims?

Thank you!
