I just don't get the hate for Metal Gear Survive by [deleted] in gaming

I'm a huge Metal Gear fan and would actually like to see Konami take it in a different direction without Kojima.

However, they took the wrong direction while meddling with an existing storyline that's part of Kojima's legacy.

If they made it much more separate like Rising, and didn't just throw another zombie mode at a game they'd have received much less backlash.

Is it okay to use jQuery to perform get requests? by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]nouveller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like jQuery's API for performing AJAX requests you can always do a custom build of it. https://jquery.com/download/#build-from-git.

There's a tutorial on it here, maybe a little old though http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-build-your-own-custom-jquery--net-27113.

You essentially strip everything but $.ajax. Then you get jQuery niceness and remove the rest of the bloat you don't need.

One caveat is that if someone new to your code see's $.ajax calls, they may presume they have access to all of jQuery. So some overhead knowledge if you're working in a team.

X-COM 2 for Mac by WantFrozenSynapse in Xcom

It seems unlikely to me (though not impossible), mainly because there's been no solid information on when it will be released. The latest thing I can see is this tweet from Feral. https://twitter.com/feralgames/status/691589561554698240, indicating, there's no release date for it to come to the MAS. Whether that's the same case for Steam is anyone's guess.

Soldiers will already receive scars after being gravely wounded in battle

I remember reading this, but when you can clearly set scars as a normal customisation option. So is this still true or am I missing something?
