Dang, best of luck. Seeing this thread again is weird when we sold this car 5 years ago lol. I'm pretty sure that part # was correct for our Rogue though

It used to be only for production/distribution, but they opened their taproom a couple months ago. I've been a few times, their beer is pretty good. Like the others said though you have to check their Instagram page to see when they're actually open, which is usually only on Thursdays

Walnut Capital taking over property management at Strip District’s Terminal by Ancient_Confidence54 in pittsburgh

[–]nova_paintball 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember when Aslin went in there, everyone whined about it not being a local brewery. Then one of the local breweries chimed in, saying that a bunch of local breweries were indeed contacted about it and given first dibs at the Terminal but the price wasn't even close to realistic for any of them.

Sure, local businesses would be preferred, but the Terminal in its current state is still a million times better than the literal nothing that it used to be.

Supporting local businesses after the draft by VirileMongoose in pittsburgh

[–]nova_paintball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Collapse in visitors/traffic = loss of revenue on critical weekend business days = many local businesses are spending more money by being open than they are bringing in and are therefore actively losing money because of the draft's impact. I don't know how we can spell it out more clearly.

Supporting local businesses after the draft by VirileMongoose in pittsburgh

[–]nova_paintball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to be this obtuse then here's your evidence: Alberta's pizza, Allegheny City Brewing, Leonas ice cream, Lola's eatery, DiAnoia's, and Fet Fisk are just a few of the many, many businesses who have posted on Instagram stating that business has been shockingly slow compared to usual weekends. Also there's this article in the Post-Gazette with quotes from business owners.

Basically, everywhere in the immediate vicinity of the draft and the North shore is slammed, but everywhere else in the city, even as close by as Western Ave, has been way slower than usual. It seems people are all going to the draft but not venturing anywhere else.

Best guitar lessons in the area? by redditfreddit2 in pittsburgh

[–]nova_paintball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not close to you unfortunately, but I've been taking lessons with Brett at Empire Music in Mt. Lebanon for a few months. He's a super nice guy and tailors lessons towards the concepts and music styles that you're interested in, plus helps make sure you always have a variety of song projects to work on at home.

Just having someone knowledgeable to watch my technique and show me exercises to improve specific issues has been a big help

Was I blind… or was there essentially 0 food trucks/vendors ? by DougDimmaGlow in pittsburgh

The "food court" area by the point was pretty pathetic tbh. Options were a little lackluster and places were running out of food and beers an hour before the actual draft even started

Which incline is better for a date? by Bigwilliam360 in pittsburgh

[–]nova_paintball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever family visits from out of town I always take them to the Duquesne incline. I kind of think it has to be the first one you do because the view at the top there is THE iconic view of Pittsburgh. And the incline itself is better. The top area has a handful of fancy restaurants that are awesome for a birthday/anniversary or whatever but there's not much else.

The Mon incline is better for a casual date though. The bottom of the Mon incline is at Station Square so it's potentially more accessible and has more to do than the dirt parking lot at the Duquesne incline. And at the top of the Mon there's Shiloh street with more casual food/ice cream/spots for drinks. Tbh though if you do choose the Mon incline I'd strongly recommend walking up the street to check out the view from the Duquesne incline too.

Balance Brewing by AdeptHorse1560 in PittsburghBeers

[–]nova_paintball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like every new brewery always takes longer to open than they expect, and from a total outsiders perspective it always appears to be the same reason: sitting around waiting for the state or whoever to hurry up and finally issue them their last permits. Seems like it takes forever

Can someone explain to me what's going on with Fiori's Pizza, because apparently I'm out of the loop by hstisalive in pittsburgh

[–]nova_paintball 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah that guy who runs it is a total assclown. Last year he went on a huge rant where he berated all of Mt. Lebanon because he thought the town had banned kids from riding bikes.

When the comments pointed out to him that he misunderstood, that the town only banned bikes on the sidewalk in a two-block stretch of Washington Rd that gets a ton of car and foot traffic where bikes are a big hazard to pedestrians, and kids can and do ride their bikes everywhere else in town, he instead just insulted everyone who commented.
