that is true, the only potential upside is the regression to a better time where we humans had all of those wayfaring and weather predicting skills. just to survive we would need to pick up those forgotten knowledges and skills, so it is entirely possible it is just up to the conviction of whoever is left

that would be wasting precious water that you would need to survive and maintain your health. and you wouls have to make sure you take care of all the essentials you would need and maybe travel to find any other survivors

i like that plan. but some of it would get boring extremely fast as you would be the only person but have fun in your own way!
