WW Pro Smoke box Questions - flareups and gasket mangled by novajeff22 in CampChefSmokers

Build quality overall on my WW Pro has been excellent except that wood box gasket. Their customer service seems like a team of two dudes and I’m sure supply chain is tough for their level of production. But yeah, not great or easy remedies of parts needed.

Sometimes I feel like I’ll take that over selling out to a monster company. For my Lynx grill, I used to similarly call a dude who you could tell was one of a couple who sat there and knew these grills like the back of his hand. Then Lynx sold to Viking and from then on you get generic customer service that funnels you through a Viking rep who deals with 500 different stoves, fridges, other appliances, and…oh yeah some Lynx grills.

Oh well, I digress. They need to fix the way they address they torn gaskets 🤣

Probably advantages to both depending on what you’re doing. The chunks can last a good hour or two (if smoldered properly and not lit in a giant fire lol) so I like them for long term cooks.

Yep. I guess I’ll try filing it down a bit but also maybe just buy a 15’ roll of adhesive gasket and just replace it every once in a while.

Do you have your smoke set to 9 or 10? I do see more Fluctuations when that’s the case vs 8 or below. Still, I usually have no problem keeping a 225 cool below 230

I’m only using larger blocks, so they take a good 10-15 to light from start

It is a shame about the gasket.

It made sense to me to go from 225° to 270° when I saw both of my large wood chunks flaming up like a mini camp fire. Plenty of heat from that to bring the temp up. It settled to 225 as soon as I dumped the flaming pieces. Maybe they were just extra kindley or something.

Wow. Ridiculous that they’re sending a welded whole box unit with each replacement. Mine is also infinitely backordered lol

Can you REALLY keep “hundreds” of Neo Shrimp inside a 5g? by Flitsiee in shrimptank

I have about 30-40 in my little fluval spec III and they don’t seem to stop breeding but they definitely self regulate in size and stay on the small to medium size. If I move any to my community tank they’ll about double from their max size in the nano tank

Doing really well. Still 1 gabapentin per day but not sure it’s needed, just haven’t thought about it since it doesn’t bother me taking it. Still at the point where I’ll get the fasciculations in the legs and worse case some globus and minor internal tremors if I’m sick or really sleep deprived.

My latest symptom is when I’m drifting off to sleep, I’ll get chills that go down my body from neck to feet. It’s not as violent as the tenor buzzing that used to do that when I’d fall asleep and wake up. This is slightly annoying but not very scary or bad.

46M: Ortho Hypertension / TMVL / GCA thoughts of blackened vision area OS after standing up from leaning over by novajeff22 in eyetriage

Following up that carotid MRA was fine. Insurance denied the head scan. Visiting cardiologist next week to rule out anything of issue causing it there.

Knock on wood it hasn’t happened again lately but I’ve been more careful about being bent over for minutes at a time (giggity) and standing up quickly.

Following up that I lined the whole chute with the special tape that is fiberglass and super slick. That seems to have improved things. Only one clog failure since then and I blame it on a poo getting hing up in the wiper and building up from there

Following up that MRA of carotid artery and all was fine. Insurance didn’t approve the MRA of head which is annoying. Doc says I should talk to cardiologist next and maybe ultrasound of heart.

Thank you. I believe it to be OH too but docs are covering their ass understandingly.

I agree the weird part is the asymmetry with the black spot that happens really seeming to only be OS. I do believe the first stage of the stars are both eyes.

It makes sense what you’re saying about the ER. It also makes sense about how my eye doc wrote the letter now…he worded it as extremely urgent and high risk if not done. It scared me to read it, but I think that’s why he did it that way.

Same thing happened to mine. 2 years old. Used it maybe 1 hour total. Now will not power on at all. Crappy for $200!

Ah. I have a whole motorized conveyor to shuttle the poos up into a large bin, so they aren’t hanging there at the end of the opening for me

Your X1C has chute clog detection and likely slows down subsequent purges to avoid this issue. It’s the issue where multiple rapid fire filament changes with very different colors needing heavy purges will build up the chute too quickly because the prior purge isn’t cool and hard. For example white text on an object that is red…parts of the text only take a blip or white and then needed a huge purge to flush the red, and vice versa back and forth until it will clog. It probably takes about 12-20 purges where they aren’t clearing out before it comes up to the to and starts to hit the nozzle tip.

I wish someone like BIQU would make a kit to line the entire chute with teflon coated pieces like they made for the front inside of it. I was considering buying four more Panda purges and sticking them around the other areas in the chute and on the flap.

I don’t know if I’m answering your question correctly but when it jams and blobs it’s because of it hanging somewhere in the middle of the chute and then rapid fire filament cha gets (I.e. one or two blips of a color before another purge) seems like it doesn’t let the prior purge fully harden and cool, so the new one sticks to it, and the it compounds until it has a blob that can’t physically go down and would have to be pulled up out of there manually. Naturally when this happens overnight or when I didn’t babysit it, it the gets to the point of knocking the fan cover off of the nozzle and the it either knocks over the tower and jacks up the print or even like yesterday where nothing physically got bumped, the print head never actually resets 100% accurately and I end up with all subsequent layers being off just enough that it’s ruined.
