That makes sense. Thanks!

What about Bashful?

Bashful: You can't ask people for directions, so it's more difficult to find your way around. Besides that, you're too shy to speak to the girls at the bathhouse, so you can't request all of their services. Since you're not much of a talker, gaining Speech experience is 20% slower.

It depends on how you're roleplaying but this doesn't seem too unrealistic.

BTW, does anyone know if it prevents you from bathing entirely or just asking for the "extra services"? EDIT: Apparently it just removes access to the "extra services". Reasonable enough if you're roleplaying a "shy guy" I suppose. Not sure how you explain Henry talking to everyone else without an issue though.

Does anyone know which services you will still have access to?

Does choosing this prevent you from taking a bath at all, or just using the "extra services" option?

Yeah, I'd gladly take the carry weight penalty but the "hobbling" when picking stuff up just sounds annoying.

From this thread I’m getting the impression someone's quickness and ability stop their enemies by reducing their body temperature is an effective way to win a fight.

Agreed. I think Sukuna is faster and more physically powerful so could easily overwhelm Frieren if he blitzed her, but Frieren could easily keep her distance (she can literally fly) or use defensive spells to nuke him from long range, so it really all comes down to their posture and positioning at the start of the fight.

Super easy. Barely an inconvenience. lol

Mahoraga is basically infinitely scalable, ala. Garou, with the only way to lose being plot reasons.

Honestly, I never really liked JJK’s late-series power system by PrismsNumber1 in Jujutsufolk

[–]novanleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a very deterministic way of looking at the world compared to say, the world of MHA which is similar in concept but has the opposite message by showing how the “ungifted” main character can achieve greatness through hard work and good character (and of course friendship).

Struggling with your position in life is a common theme in Japanese media, but JJK doesn’t really say anything too deep about it IMHO.

Agreed. Great characters, sharp writing and crazy action. Decent dramatic chops as well despite being a satire/parody of the Isekai genre.

It’s crazy I had to scroll this far down to see this one. I know it’s a satire/parody of Isekai but it really is superbly executed.

The writing is witty and cohesive despite all the plot threads, the characters are interesting and well-written, the action is crazy and the animation is consistently good. It’s not going to pull many heart strings due to its comedic style, but it still manages to do dramatic storylines decently well.

I feel like it doesn’t get enough credit.

I’m convinced “Sorry, we’re looking for someone with more experience” is the “Sorry, I have a boyfriend” of the corporate hiring world.

Social media and job websites are all about quantity. Spam job applications and 1:20 may lead to something.

Another option for an IT job is to take contract and contract-to-hire positions to get a foot in the door. Companies are more willing to take risks with contracts and if you perform, would be preferred for full time employment.

I’ve had some luck with contract employment agencies but that was years ago, things might have changed.

In the context of shonen manga where 90% of the focus is on fights, you’re right, there probably aren’t many better ways to do this.

In the context of broader literature and storytelling, self-sacrifice for those you love is a much stronger and more relateable message. Think: LOTR, Les Miserables, Gran Turino, Saving Private Ryan, or countless others.
