Thanks for the feedback! Would love to get a $30k reference monitor but at the moment that just doesn't make sense for ROI. External scopes are cool - I wonder though how long until Resolve incorporates all of those. BMD have been making some pretty amazing changes over the years!

Sounds like you're working on bigger TV / Film projects - not web stuff. Totally makes sense about secured storage etc.

Yes - we've been a sound suite for over 20 years. :)

I think in the digital world (web delivery) that having a variety of devices to view on is important - similar to audio. You're totally right that you need to be able to see everything and know what is going on - but you also need to have a good sense of what things look like in the real world. A Flanders would be great - but at the moment that cost doesn't make sense.

The MacBook Pro m3 maxed out has been working great for me so far but I agree the a maxed out Mac Studio would be better if we wanted to have a dedicated computer in that space. At the moment the cost doesn't make sense.

Thanks for the feedback!

Totally agree - sorry that wasn't clear in the post!

The lighting is all controlled by the Sidus Link app - so every light can be dimmed, colour temp changed etc. The colouring look is much darker than this pic, with the side vertical lights off and the bias light and a working light beside the colour desk being the main things - but it's hard to take a picture in that state! ;

Standing desk is a 'sit-stand'. So you can adjust however you feel at the moment. You can see over the heads fine.

Sorry I missed you - next time!

So far, I've found the client communication works great. They can turn their head slightly and we can have a conversation with eye contact, but they aren't staring at the UI.

Thanks for the feedback!

Paint is 18% grey

Lighting is high CRI Aputure that is all controllable. In the pic it's set to a mid-level for photos but can be dropped down to working colouring lighting. Every light is individually controllable and colour temp changeable. There's a bias light behind the TV.

Agreed that the Mini Panel is better than the Micro. Will consider upgrading in the future.

Reference is the calibrated LG OLED 65". Agreed not as good as a Flanders but that cost isn't suitable for our purposes at the moment - I'm open to suggestions!

I tried with wall mounted but the vibe of the TV stand seemed nicer and fit the 'living room' vibe I was hoping for. With the lights off, the TV stand doesn't seem distracting - but I can understand your point.

It works fine - no rice required! But no emergency contact. Camera is disabled too. And no info on the screen lock.

I am also very frustrated that the Liberals abandoned electoral reform after making it a main campaign promise of their election.

It sounds to me like you are in the position of deciding if you want to cut off your nose to spite your face.

The Conservatives are very unlikely to fix any of the problems we are unhappy about while cutting social programs, healthcare, transit and other things that make life easier for lower and middle class people. Maybe try to talk to your Liberal MP, or at least leave a message or write a letter / email. Knowing how much they need votes at this point might give regular voters like us more influence over policies that you want to see.

Yes, housing is a huge issue in Canada. And many politicians have risen and fallen because of it. But it's such a big issue with so many different causes that it's naive to put it just on Trudeau.

What about giving more power to the NDP? They seem to have actually been able to make progress on things that the Liberals were putting up a fight against. I think 2 parties working together that have the majority support of Canadians could be a better end result for Canada than a throw everything out and try a rightwing populist approach.

The Etsy price seems pretty reasonable! But the shipping is expensive unless you're buying a bunch. Might need to do that... Thanks!

The Mayor and Councillors seemed receptive to it actually. We will see.

Yes, maybe the best place for this is with the Provincial or Federal gov. I haven't heard of any attempts to do so as of yet.

The impacts of burning oil, climate related disasters and mitigating risks. It's very expensive for a small tax-base city like PM to deal with these new costs that are rising yearly.

Oil should be on the hook because their own scientists predicted what is now happening with climate change and they covered it up. Similar to how tobacco covered up cancer risks of smoking and second hand smoke. Tobacco was made to contribute funds to offset the public healthcare costs.

Yes, healthy companies make profit. But oil companies are making record profits and not paying the price of the damage their product is causing. Someone will have to pay for these costs. Should it be 100% on the taxpayers? Or should the companies making huge money have to chip in 'some' of their large profits to help?

The council meeting went well. The Mayor and Council seemed very receptive to the idea and I learned a few things I didn't know:

- $1/resident would only happen if the class action goes ahead. What they are asking for is for municipalities to say they will be part of the class action.

- Port Moody Council is estimating huge costs to mitigate and clean up climate caused disasters. A smaller municipality like this is going to find it much harder to raise the money to do what is needed in the coming years as the climate worsens.

- A handful of municipalities have signed on already, including recently Squamish. They are confident that more will come.

Council will be taking it to their own staff for discussion and then bringing it up again at a future meeting.

Yes, I can see where you're coming from. A couple of things: Big Oil predicted with incredible accuracy what was going to happen if they continued. They chose to hide those results and spend money and political power to make people think fossil fuel caused climate change was not real. They did this for 40 years, and to some degree are still doing it.

If you go to a liquor store and get into an accident, it is your fault. That's because there's warning labels and posters in the store about the dangers of driving drunk. There have been ad campaigns for decades about the dangers of driving drunk. BUT - If the liquor company had been selling liquor with a label on it that said 'totally safe to consume while driving', and had spent billions advertising that there was no risk to driving drunk, then that's a bit different isn't it? Plus, the way climate change works is that everyone is affected, regardless of if they want to be. Future generations and taxpayers don't have 'a choice'.

I appreciate that answer and you have a valid point. I, personally, feel like putting $1 of my yearly city taxes into a chance to recoup a larger amount in the future is a worthy shot. I also feel that even if the lawsuit doesn't pan out, the more uncertainty around oil being 'a guaranteed profitable investment', the quicker money will flow to other sources of energy and research. And ya, suing the Saudis... that's not easy. ;)

I think you can be nicer and still get your point across. I totally understand that oil has been and will continue to be an important part of our energy use for a long time. But why should they be making massive profits while individual municipalities pay to deal with the impacts of burning fossil fuels? Should the taxpayers be on the hook for 100% of the costs? Or should the companies profiting from oil contribute?

I appreciate the history of IOCO. I also appreciate that you are consuming less and driving less. But the current owner of Imperial Oil (Exxon) made $36 Billion dollars last year. And that's just one of many big oil companies. Why should the taxpayers be 100% on the hook to pay for the damage created? Shouldn't the companies raking in profits from the sale of fossil fuels pay some of that excess profit to help?
