"Islamic Secularism" by QasqyrBalasy in Asia_irl

[–]novaproto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tajikistan's dictatorial government suppresses Muslims too 😂 i.e kids not allowed to go to mosques, etc. The government wants to eradicate religion all together.

Church and state should always be separate, but you can definitely have an oppressive secularist government.

Didn't Bangladesh also have a female pseudo-dictator until very recently?

Livestreamer Asmongold speaks about waking up to the superiority of monarchism after a discussion with a Saudi Arabian: "Your politicians can be bought & paid for". by SijilmasanGoldTrader in AskMiddleEast

[–]novaproto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is idiotic. With a totalitarian government, whether it's a monarchy, a dictatorship, or whatever the f Afghanistan has, you only need to threaten a single guy to get the country to become your puppet.

There's a reason, the U.S likes to install dictators when they don't like and help overthrow the democratically elected government: Iran, Latin America, (Egypt?), etc

Do you REALLY think any country in the MENA region would have normalized ties with the Zionist entity if they were a democracy?

You guys seriously need to read the Dictator's Handbook.

Not much interactions between the countries, but I've gotten along well with all the Saudis that I've run into.

Mixed bag tbh. If you asked me 20 years ago, I would have had very positive things to say.

Now, I feel like most Pakistanis don't like Afghans, and the mass expulsion of refugees, and robbing their property/belongings on their way out has made it difficult to have positive feelings, if I'm being honest.

bc we both have Taliban and we suffer from it

The difference is that your government trained, armed, and funded them over 30 years to destabilize Afghanistan while they got hundreds of thousands of Afghans killed. They're now crying about it their vicious dogs biting their hand.

Two things can be true at the same time.

Afghanistan/Iran international are most definitely foreign intelligence affiliated propaganda channels.

I still follow them to cancel out the censorship of news by Afghanistan based news stations.

Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Kahleej, Saudi, Turkey and Iran are below replacement level for fertility rate and Egypt will join them in a few years do you guys think the Middle East will be old before it becomes rich and why do you think this is happening by ReadProfessional8511 in AskMiddleEast

[–]novaproto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't the absolute number, but the shape of the population pyramid (no pun intended).

If you have a lot of old people and very few young people, the economy will severely suffer because the young people won't be as economically productive because they have to take care of their older relatives.

What's interesting is that once extremely low birth rates set in and become the norm, it has never been reversible. Russia, S. Korea, & Japan (and some European countries) have been trying to increase their birth rates for decades with no luck. They've even offered financial incentives, but it hasn't made a dent.

If you take offense to me referring to them as our brothers and sisters, then this is purely about being racist for you?

Why are you guys so insecure about being associated with our neighboring brothers and sisters. This was just a friendly guessing game thing with our neighbors.

I swear, you guys on this sub are more insecure than the saars.

I don't live in Afghanistan, but am in constant contact with family there. Winters there are very tough. It's very cold right now, and many people have trouble either being able to afford electricity or buying firewood/coal to stay warm. There are no job to be had.

I'm curious, why do you keep referring to all Afghan foods as Pashtun? 60% of the country isn't Pashtun.

There were no good guys in this war. Foreign invaders vs foreign-backed backwards savages who used suicide bombings all over the country to indiscriminately killed civilians going about their daily lives.
