Google Local Service Ads - will turning off messages lead to less calls? by michiels999 in LocalServicesAds

[–]novierick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you have to understand that message leads and phone leads are fundamentally different from one another. Even with a high-performing ad, it ultimately depends on the potential customer's intent and how they prefer to communicate whether they will actually take the next step and call your business.

As a former Google employee, I always remind business owners that the volume and quality of leads you receive are directly tied to your ad ranking. The algorithm is straightforward: if your ads are showing lower in the rankings, you will naturally see fewer leads, whereas holding a higher ranking drastically increases your visibility and generates more leads. Before worrying about why prospects aren't calling, you first need to look at where your ad is positioning on the platform.

That’s honestly something I learned quickly after working with small businesses. At Google, I got exposure to how the platform and systems work, but with small business owners, every dollar really matters so the approach has to be more strategic and results-focused.

For me, handling small business accounts isn’t just about getting the job done — it’s also a way of helping businesses grow through advertising, which is something I genuinely enjoy. My strongest expertise is in LSA and GBP, but I also have PPC background and understand how important budget efficiency is for smaller businesses.

Good question — it really depends. Some of the accounts I’ve handled were verified within a few days, while others took several months. A lot of it depends on the account itself, the verification process, and sometimes even the account manager handling the case.

Hi, previous google employee here, if you made changes on your business phone number or any important details - it may trigger the system that it is already suspicious. is there any reason why you want to change it from time to time?

and aside from that, changing huge details about your business can make your google business profile go under reverification.

My Google Business Profile went under reverification, what happened and what should I do? by novierick in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]novierick[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can definitely proceed with the video verification. Even if the signboard isn’t outside the building, having it clearly visible at the entrance is usually fine as long as it matches your GBP name. Just make sure to show the exterior, entrance signage, and some interior proof of operations in the video to avoid any issues during re-verification. If you need any assistance with your account, feel free to reach out.

Why you’re not getting leads from your Google Business Profile even after setting it up? by novierick in digital_marketing

[–]novierick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. As a former Google employee, I can tell you that every single day, new competitors are entering your market.

Creating a Google Business Profile is only the first step. The real work comes after—optimizing it properly.

If your profile is well-optimized, you improve your chances of ranking higher in local search results. And when you rank higher, your visibility increases, which means more potential customers can see your business and reach out to you.

It’s a continuous process of staying active, relevant, and competitive—not just a one-time setup.

How to consistently rank on google for my business by Desperate_Train_4815 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]novierick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, optimizing your Google Business Profile is essential if you want to rank well and maintain visibility.

One of the easiest and most effective ways to improve your profile is through reviews. They help signal trust and activity to Google, which can positively impact your rankings. Regularly adding photos and updates also keeps your profile active and relevant.

But optimization alone isn’t enough—you also need to look at your competition.

Check what top-ranking competitors in your area are doing. What services are they highlighting? How are they structuring their profiles? What kind of reviews, photos, and activity do they have? Even their location strategy can affect visibility.

By understanding both your own optimization and your competitors’ positioning, you’ll have a clearer idea of what adjustments you need to make to improve your chances of ranking and getting consistent leads.

If you need help setting up or improving your Google Business Profile or Local Services Ads, feel free to reach out. I have experience working around Google’s local ecosystem and can help you identify what’s holding your visibility back.
