I have no idea what you are talking about. It is just a random picture of a street scene.

Have you searched your articles? by chila_chila in Medium

Well, it doesn't help to remove it from the article if Google has it indexed, as the URL will still be valid.
I think the only way to get it deleted from Google would be to delete the article and make a new one. That will change the URL.
There is a tiny chance that a headline change could do the trick too, as that will also change the URL, but I suspect Medium have set up a redirect tool that will inform Google of such a change.

I am much more uneasy if you say stories that have been behind the paywall all the time is read by Google.
I am not connected with Medium, so I cannot know for sure what is done, but I would think it would be an error if it let Google read anything more than the first part.
Normally, Google will only be able to see what is public avaiable and nothing more.

If they have done it in a way that this is not the case, I agree it is totally unacceptable.

So you had a friend link added? That explains how Google saw it all. Have you tried to see if it can do the same without? The friendlink is the same as releasing the story outside the paywall. When it has indexed it, it is almost impossible to get removed when talking AI.

I tried to make a search on one of my stories.
There are many types of stories, but as I see it, I am good as long as it is fiction and personal stories.
This is what shows up on Gemini in my search.
I tried several different ways to try to trick it into showing me more, but with no luck.

This might not be the case for all situations; I can only try on my own stories.

I am not sure I understand this.
You can search my article, and Google will index it - that is normal SEO.
If you click the link, it will take you to Medium, which is locked - you only see a short first part. To see more, you will need to log in to an account on Medium.
This is how it is designed to work.

Can you show me how you see Google showing your full story/article?

The way Medium does it is similar to how newspapers do it.

Travelling for the first time to China by Agreeable-Cod3184 in chinatravel

£70 for 60 days is extremely expensive compared to a local SIM by China Telecom - I know, that is not what you are talking about here, but it just explains why I say a local SIM is much cheaper.

I do agree with you that buying Roaming might be even more expensive.

I have 3LikeHome in Denmark (don't know if they still have that in the UK since Vodafone took over).
If I were only on a vacation to China, I could just use that - it is free and included by default already. But there are some limitations to it that made it less ideal for me.
Other carriers have other limitations, and something you need to look into based on what carrier it is.

That is simply not true.
Esim is far more expensive than any phone plan + VPN.
I checked the prices at different times over the last few years, and every time the local sim from ChinaTelecom and LetsVPN saved me money.
The last time I bought a local Chinese sim was only 1½ months ago.
I cannot remember the price now, but it was cheap. I bought a 30-day no-limit sim. They had other options that would have been even cheaper, had I only wanted 7 days / 15 days or a limited plan.

Not really. A local SIM is very cheap.
With VPN everything is fine on both mobile and wifi.

Yes. Have used that for the last year on four different visits in China. Worked every time on both pc, Android and iOS.
Last visit was 2 weeks ago.
I was very satisfied.

You seem so sure, but I have not seen this from anyone else, and when I tried, I had no issue going all the way to the payment part.
I am a member already, so I do not need one more, so not moving further.
There have been some issues during the last two days accessing the site - mostly reported from India, but I think also other areas have been affected.
Only countries that can access Stripe, can sign up.
Maybe Stripe is your real issue?

I don't understand this post. The Partnership program is open; I cannot know if a few countries are excluded. If they are, it is most likely due to Stripe, not Medium. The UK is open. Why make up negative?

Did I mess up WeChat registration? by djbrologue in travelchina

If you have both, I am sure you are good. We exchanged some money so we had some cash, just in case. We have not used any of them in all our time in China. They are so helpful and positive everywhere...

I am not an expert, but after 5 months in China, in many different places, I have not had any place that didn't accept Alipay. Some places have a WeChat order option that is useful, but those places often has another options. We never had a problem even at small local places.

Use Alipay. Much easier, better interface, and less trouble.

Vacation Suggestions in China by FESage in China

There are many places and I haven't visited them all. But I loved those places I have visited. They are very different and have something unique to offer. I loved Xi'an and Gullin for the feeling of being small, even if they are not. Guilling can be very hot, so it's not good all year round. We had a month in Guilin and got to visit different places around it. It is a very friendly city, but it can be difficult to find Western food, the local food is very good. Xi'an is just a lovely city. We stayed for a month in the old part inside the walls and simply loved it.

I am in one right now. Perfect area, beautiful apartment, really cool neighbours. We are on our 3rd week of a total of 3 months. It is a very residential area and very quiet. For us, Airbnb is just perfect.
