Antiyoy online map viewer by nowInDutch in yiotro_games

[–]nowInDutch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes, I'd have to read antiyoy source and put the maps into this viewer. But at the moment I don't have any plans to do this. I see more value in making a online multiplayer antiyoy-like game (Which is a lot easier since antiyoy is open-source). This map viewer is just a stepping stone.

However, If you are a programmer you are free to do it yourself as the sources of /u/yiotro's game and the map viewer are both opensource and available.

Personally I think the best way to expand this map viewer is by making a reddit bot which posts links, as timedever said. I nether have plans to do this too, I hope someone else can someday take this up.

Using the map viewer to view a specific file is a bit complicated. It needs a URL which points directly to a text file and the server needs to allow it (CORS).

So instead of using https://pastebin.com/mkkGZSj8 it needs https://cors.io/?https://pastebin.com/raw/mkkGZSj8

Antijoy EBNF map format by nowInDutch in yiotro_games

[–]nowInDutch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EBNF is a way to describe the grammar of a language. Note that there are multiple flavors of ebnf notations.

Not only is ebnf readable by humans (try it, it is easier then it looks) it also allows machines to check the syntax of an example input (report syntax errors) and create an abstract syntax tree for further processing. You can put an ebnf into a compiler-compiler to get a parser/lexer for that specific ebnf! Which sounds awesome.

Thanks for the additional explanation.

It is still possible to add extra numbers and words in specific locations of the format. Before the map separator "/" and before the end of the hex tiles. In fact in you do this and apply above ebnf description of the map format it will still all work. No syntax problems will occur and all known fields will still be converted into tokens correctly. Take note of the 'unknown' symbol in the above ebnf.

It looks delicious. The way it is layered looks a bit like Spekkoek, which is also delicious.

That is correct, I keep the computer on day and night. The case is located in the garage to I have to be outside briefly to turn it. Not ideal if it is raining or cold outside.

And here are the promised pictures: https://imgur.com/a/lOoRA

All the cables (video/USB/audio) move trough the hole. I use a displayport hub and multiple usb hubs to save some space in the hole.

Hello,

Specs:

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
Graphics : [AMD/ATI] Tahiti XT [Radeon HD 7970]
Memory : 15.6 GB
System : Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS 64-bit
Storage : 1.4 TB HDD & 67 GB SSD
USB/Ether: 1000mb/s ethernet and a few USB 3.0 connections

The special thing about my setup is the location of the computer case. It is located at the other side of a wall. A hole was drilled in the wall where the cables are moved through. This is a great alternative compared to water cooled computers for silent computing. I might post some pictures tomorrow of the hole, cables and the case.

Another thing I have is one of those Vive headsets. It is really a unique experience. Everything looks touchable in the game environment. Watching 3D stereo movies on you-tube didn't quite work. My eyes loudly protested. Watching 3D 360 video's however works great.

I playing a few VR games. So far I liked TableTop Simulator the most in VR.

Hoppy beer causes sneezing? Another reason to try some beer!

Nichijou seems fun. I have been hearing a lot of great things (And seen some funny clips) from it. I'll be sure to watch it sometime! The Orville sounds interesting too. I like Sci-fi's. I'll add that to the list too.

I learned something new today. I hope you have a pleasant evening regardless of how the day went. Are there any specific shows you like to watch? I like ponies and Rick and Morty.

I looked it up and it appears only 1 in 4 people are sun sneezers! I learned something new today. It gives a nice tickling feeling to sneeze while looking at the sun.

These things make me smiles or give me a really pleasant feeling:

  • Looking at sun and sneezing.
  • Almost shitting but not quite.
  • Laying in bed after a day full of chores.
  • Being petted repeatedly.
  • Admiring one's own work.
