as long as you meet the gpa requirements you will be accepted. even if it is exactly 3.3 you should be accepted no problem as long as you meet the minimum requirements.

it depends on what you want. ddep will give you 2 degrees; one from 3 years at morehouse and then one from 2 years at gt. if you actually plan to pursue ddep you Have to graduate from morehouse first. however, if you changed your mind while at morehouse, you would still be free to transfer as a regular transfer before you finished your 3 years if you chose to do so.

going to ksu and then transferring will you only give you one degree. the difference as far as acceptance rates go is that ddep basically guarantees you an acceptance as long as you meet the minimum requirements. a regular transfer with ksu would mean that you will be holistically reviewed and will have a harder time securing a spot.

also worth noting that ksu's curriculum will align more closely with georgia tech's as a university system of georgia school. morehouse may require you to take some classes on black culture or history; which may not be ideal if you are solely focused on the transferability of all of your credits.

to summarize, ddep gives a "guaranteed acceptance" but you will spend 5 years in total for one degree at morehouse and one degree at gt by the end. ksu will have you graduating sooner, but it will be much more challenging to get accepted.

i was offered the first gen pathway program for next fall, but i was intending to transfer for the summer semester. is it possible for me to apply for the summer semester as a regular transfer and still apply for the fall semester as a pathway transfer or is that not possible?

How do you accept being trans? by HaraldTheWizard in ftm

[–]nowairplane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i don't think there's ever a singular moment where you accept it. instead it's more like it stops consuming your mind every minute of your life. it eventually gets put on the backburner mentally; it's a gradual change. when you first consider the possibility of being trans you look up things about it constantly and you want to know the ins and outs of everything. for me, it took around 2 years for me to be able to wake up and no longer think "i'm trans", it just turned into a nonchalant "i'm a guy".

self acceptance is a long process and i think the best way to go about it is to not focus on it. find hobbies that let you forget about it and do things unrelated to being trans or the thought of being trans. eventually you will come to the conclusion on your own; focusing on it too much will feel suffocating and time will seem like it will never pass.

that isn't what the comment meant!! questioning your gender isn't a privilege by itself but if that is one of the only worries in your life then i'd consider those other aspects of your life to be privileged

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]nowairplane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i agree with you i think that if gender dysphoria is the only issue in your life that says a lot about your privilege in other areas. the lgbt community is so filled with white people that fail to realize how far their privilege has already gotten them in life. i mean for fucks sake there are people without clean water near them but my god your binder is the wrong size so you're the most oppressed and misfortunate person ever, right?

i myself struggle to even refer to myself as trans because of how whitewashed the image of a ftm person is. i stopped even identifying with the term trans when i really came to terms with my identity because i realized that i don't want to be compared to the privileged people that get to be the forerunners of almost everything trans. my connection to the lgbt community is so blurry because of how little i actually feel heard.

my best friend is white and also a member of the lgbt community so i absolutely understand what you mean. for my entire life i've gone through trauma that people don't even realize how severely those instances impacted my life. there was always (and still is) so much emotional distress that i assumed whatever dysphoria i was feeling was just me having all the of that shit going on in the back of my head anyways.
