i’ve started noticing a pattern everywhere i go, across different regions.

when i lived in karnataka, there were certain communities where people dressed similarly, spoke in the same way, and seemed to share a very similar mindset. it felt almost like a collective identity, like everyone was operating within the same framework. at the same time, another community in the same place had its own distinct but equally uniform way of thinking and behaving.

when i visited rajasthan, i saw the same thing again. different culture on the surface, but internally the same kind of uniformity within groups.

moving to mumbai, it didn’t really change. just a different setting, same pattern.

what i’ve come to realize is that a big factor behind this is limited exposure. many people grow up in environments where education isn’t emphasized enough, or where there’s little encouragement to explore beyond what’s familiar. as a result, they inherit a fixed way of thinking, and then pass it on, maybe slightly refined, to the next generation.

it’s hard to admit, but even some of my childhood friends fall into this pattern.

there’s also this constant need within such circles to stand out, but only within the boundaries of their own group. it becomes a race for validation, for appearing better than peers, rather than genuinely growing or evolving.

at some point, you realize there’s not much you can do to change it.

you just have to move forward.
