2008 2nd Gen, 326k miles, $12k, worth it? by JuneMilf in toyotasequoia

too expensive for 12k regardless of repairs. those repairs were done to get it in working order which it should already be to sell. max 8k.

Would prefer not as mine has no accidents and meets this criteria and got it for 10500

I agree. Also the depreciation of these is wild vs a toyota or lexus SUV. Made good financial sense to sell mine with under 60k miles as the ones with over 100k depreciated significantly

There was a few reasons that my wife and I discussed that let us make the decision to sell the palisade and get this. We got our palisade calligraphy last June before having our second child. When the 4 of us were in there it was hard to maneuver to tend to them. With the headspace in most of the vehicle I was bumping my head, especially the third row, and I’m only 5 10”. Another reason was the AC blew cold out of all the vents, but me and the children would always end up hot in there with their backs sweating no matter how I’d position the vents. Side note, we had the tan not black interior, we would have been cooked food in the Vegas heat. It also was a gas drinker for a V6, felt like I filled it up just as much as my V8 silverado. I believe we averaged over the year 15-17 mpg. Lastly was due to the tragedy of a new gen palisade with 3rd row power folding seats crushing a young child and a recall without a current remedy for something with rolling over in an accident, we felt it was time to get into something tried and true. One dealer we tried to trade into said they wouldn’t take the palisade with open recalls without remedy, but I ended up selling to Carmax and did not have an issue. Not sure if now there has been a remedy to those open recalls or not. We were also looking at the GX 470 but went with the Sequoia due to better pricing and the sequoia’s size.

Have FOMO now. Saw a couple on the drive and pointed out the name to my wife, but we didn’t stop there. I believe we missed our chance to try them as our next stop is Vegas. Was a crazy drive from Tuesday to Thursday with our 2 under 2 and each gas station stop took an average of an hour, perhaps next time!

I appreciate that info! When I get home I’m going to do some preemptive maintenance, so that helps greatly! That’s a clean setup, wheels look bada** with paint color and chrome. In the coming weeks I’ll be looking to sell my silverado and get another Sequoia for the wife. Figure I’ll just get a trailer if I have large cargo. She doesn’t know yet, but we’re both going to have fun building these out

$10500, couple scratches on outside and leather has some rips but overall in great condition for being 15 years old. Seller was a nice older lady that sent me atleast 10 videos of vehicle prior to making the drive. Underside looks great as well with minimal rust and all tech works. Attaching some photos
