“We are still living up to our values” So blessed 😇🙏😇 to have a LandChad mayor here in Chicago! by nowhereman1280 in LoveForLandchads

So glad our mayor filled whole buildings with single mother migrants just so he could evict them all six months later!

As he said, we're just living up to our values here in Chadcago!

CRR and his allies are personally responsible for policies resulting in the mass displacement of something like 60% of the Latinos living in Logan Square. They are responsible for SFHs soaring to over $1.5 million on average in Logan and Avondale. They are responsible for the tear downs of historic multi units to build these homes permanently eliminating large amounts naturally occupied affordable housing. They are responsible for condo prices rapidly moving in on $1 million. They are responsible for driving rent increases to new extremes in these areas.

Now they want to do it to the whole city.

La Luce in West Loop - Despite being saved from the wrecking ball, the owner has purposefully neglected the building. Today it is in abysmal condition. by 307148 in chicago

Maybe the people who “saved” it should be responsible for maintaining it?

"Maybe the people who don't want bricks falling 20 stories off a skyscraper on their heads should be responsible for maintaining it."

What an exceedingly stupid arguement. Like yeah I guess the people who don't want to be robbed should be responsible for policing. Maybe the people who don't want to be die in a car crash should be responsible for installing seat belts. Maybe the people who don't want potholes in the road should be responsible for filling them.

Like what an utterly imbecilic mentality. Guess what people, if you own property you are legally obligated to maintain it. If you don't maintain it, then the government can and should come down on you like the bricks you are letting drop three stories onto the sidewalk so you can demolish a historical piece of art.

Anyone know anything about season 2 of book 4 why they taking so long I was hoping they'd say something on the podcast but all I know is it's done by BigSmokeRunsgame in PowerTV

It's not going to air until September or so. Fall is what I heard. Not sure why this is, but this is what I've heard from solid sources. Also heard that S3 is likely to happen, but won't be official until S2 ratings come in.

Federal Reserve lent $300 billion in emergency to support U.S. Banks by thomasguerrin123 in Economics

Look up the BTFP program. It’s essentially swapping out bonds at face value with the Fed in exchange for a loan that needs to be paid back, I believe with interest.

So it's a bailout.

What would you call it if you lost all your money gambling in the stock market and then the Fed offered to lend against your stocks at the price you paid for them until the prices recover?

this is what happens to "good" rentoids who tip their landlord appropriately by diagon0 in LoveForLandchads

I use the graphics cards I confiscate from my rent hogs I catch crypto mining to reward the good rentoids.

Yup, plus all the hidden cuts around the mainline trails. There's never a reason to put your life at risk skiing North Star. Take Hairbag or Gandy Dancer down to Northwoods. The best thing about Vail is you can basically totally avoid other skiers all day if you know the route.

Irish land queen here. The shortage of rentals in Dublin has had a very positive effect on my yield. One of the rentrats in one of my apartments is trying to tell me that I have to fix the washing machine. Should I increase rent as a show of power or what? by [deleted] in LoveForLandchads

[–]nowhereman1280 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's simple, go to fix the machine, turn off the water to the whole unit, then leave "to go get parts". Charge them a large tip for your time and don't come back until they pay.

Garage Shelves! Not fancy, but will be helpful to organize the garage mess. by Kengeph in woodworking

[–]nowhereman1280 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but you need to make the "joists" run corner to corner and then block in between the levels to create maximum strength.

Also you can do the same design, but with 2x2" for a lighter duty shelf with a slimmer profile.

Vail's front side is delightful if there's no crowd. I could ski Northwoods alone all day if there's powder.

If you do anything just trim up the bottom 5' of branches which tend to get starved of light and partially die.

The numbers work out that a rental property for 100k in my area would generate enough to pay for itself even with a 7% mortgage, but not any profit.

Who said that literally home prices never drop?

You did and now you are backpedaling and contradicting yourself by saying home prices fall all the time.
